Must plantation shutters match trim?

I have cream plantation shutters in multiple rooms of my new (to me) house. Trim is currently cream as well. The closest paint match I can find to the shutters is SW Creamy. I’d like to paint the trim a white though…will this look horrible with the cream shutters? I feel like the shutters should match the trim. I was told painting the shutters will harm their since they’re a composite material. I cannot find a wall color I like that looks good with Creamy trim. So I thought maybe I could paint the walls creamy to match the shutters and then the trim a white? I just can't have cream everywhere in every room on all the walls and trim…I'd like some contrast, at least in some rooms. Or do I just paint everything creamy? Current wall color is dark golden beige, and it badly needs to be painted.
