Help!! Clicking sounds in my fire place
Comments (2)It's probably the metal expanding and nothing to worry about much but there's a chance that some of the sounds are from falling creosote particles from the lower flue temperature. By Heritage, I am assuming you mean a Hearthstone Heritage, nice stove, but 325 is pretty low for your flue temperature if you're using a magnetic type thermometer. I used to have a Hearthstone Phoenix and cruising temperature on that was between 400 and 500 for most of the burn. How far up the pipe is your thermometer from the stove flue collar? It might read lower if more than 2 feet above....See MorePlease Help me in finding a fire place for my living room media wall??

Comments (6)Check out Dimplex.com, they have many electric fireplace units as well as many fireboxes to choose from and mount on the wall. You can most likely find a local dealer to see in person. We recently had a custom light natural maple credenza made from an Amish company and had a Dimplex firebox installed in it. It needs no special venting because the hot air blows out the front into the room but it does require a separate line due to the heat fan (if you don't use the heat fan, then maybe you won't need the separate line). We have clear glass beads on the bottom of the firebox and it is essentially an LED light show! We actually have a wall mount firebox installed in a piece of furniture. http://dimplex.com/en/fireplaces/wallmounts We never thought we'd use the heat element, but we have used it once or twice and it works great. Honestly, we are so happy with our finished product, decorating our FL condo is still a work in progress, but here is what we have so far. I know its not really what you're looking for, but just an FYI. I wish the pic would show off the flame/lights as they really look, we think they're beautiful....See MoreNeed help with my mantle/fire place!!!!
Comments (48)So I'm not that great at estimating dimensions, but if I had to guess I would have thought you only have about 30" from mantel to ceiling? If that's true, the artwork you linked to above won't fit at 38" tall. Can you tell me actual width of mantel and vertical space you have from mantel to ceiling please? Now keep in mind that art is personal. We can mock things up, but it's really up to you to decide what makes you happy when you see it up there. We all have different opinions of what looks nice. I wouldn't worry about light vs. dark to balance the stove. Also, corbels may be decorative only in some situations, but they are technically designed to serve as supports for structures above them. So they would not be installed under the mantel with the appearance of being attached to the brick, they would be installed on the brick with the appearance of supporting your mantel....See MoreNicki
