what color sofa should i add to living room to warm it up
Comments (8)If you love the blue, then a sapphire sofa in velvet would not be amiss.....add a pair of lounge chairs in a bright turquoise, hot pink, bright orange, neon yellow. I think a rug in grey and white would add brightness and block some of the dark flooring. Large modern are with your room colors would be great....it if often suggested on Houzz that large art can be hung and then all the colors taken from the art work an be used to design the room. A lot of white works nicely with silver and cream. Keep the grey but add two colors all over the room Cherry red with black white grey accents Subtle yellow/cream/honey and white Lime and grey and white Tres chic if you like traditional Bright blue sofa with pop of orange....See MoreHow To Design a Living Room Without A Sofa
Comments (27)Hi Elena ! Thank you for the images:) Here is my suggestion for you: The Pottery Barn chairs: yes they will absolutely work out great The coffee table looks ok, but I would take it the same color as the chairs legs. Not another color type as your living room will already have enough different elements and for an homogenity blend, you would want the same color. Same for the side coffee table. The rug is absolutly perfect, the style goes with the vintage tradional look you seem to be aiming for. The rug color blends easily with cream and if ever you want to add gray and floral cushion, it will be convenient to match. For the dining table, do you have a picture ? If it's an open concept with the living room, I would use the same collection as the coffee table if possible. Hope this helps and don't hesitate may you have any questions:) Ariane...See Morewhat color for sofa slip cover and living room rug?
Comments (9)I‘d start with the slipcover, as they are not easy to find regarding decent fabric quality, size and shape. Suggest blue, white or green and add cushions that complement drapes. I‘d skip a brown rug and wait until you decide on color scheme. Consider your taste/comfort with mixing patterns; see above. Use a textured rug to make it easier to coordinate around and if your preference is a solid....See MoreLiving room Sofa layout/design ideas?!?!?
Comments (13)Thank you so much, West Village Interior! As you suggested, I did consult with a local designer and he suggested lighter colored furniture. I was leaning towards darker furniture (hadn't seen your post since this site has been so glitchy lately), but my family agreed with the designer and wanted to opt for a lighter colored furniture scheme instead. Majority wins lol! Just like you had mentioned in an earlier post, that family preference sometimes tends to be stronger. The upside is that the lighter tan leather couches sofas will eventually be donated and replaced. Though I don't completely dislike the furniture that was purchased, I am willing to work with it, ha ha! I still love your designer opinion about setting this space a part. The tables are in a black marble and the sofas include a sectional and a chaise. Will attach photos for your reference and hope to receive your feedback as to how to make it look more cohesive, especially with the selection of the area rug and decor pieces! Thank you!!!!!!...See MoreGcubed
