New here, looking for ideas for awkward space in master bedroom
Comments (6)Bench or trunk will wind up being a place where clothes are thrown as well (if that's how you roll, that is). Since the space is deep (28") a bookcase might seem a bit odd. I'd consider an armoire, which would put any clothing tossed at it easily behind doors. But you might also make it simply a spot for some dramatic decorating "prop", depending on what the style of your room is. I'm thinking something like a beautiful screen, a dressmakers' form, a very large plant, a large urn filled with willow branches or the like. What's your style? Contemporary? Traditional? Romantic?...See MoreWhat can we do with this awkward space?
Comments (32)I got it! I got it! Inspired by the fabulous view and wanting something restful in the DR, put in a waterfall wall!!! It would be gorgeous. You can get them in glass, acrylic, copper, steel, colors, all kinds of things. And you can set them up to be just the upper part of the wall with a buffet or credenza in front. You can get them to be rain, bubbles or water fall.... And how cool is that, fire and water.... Here is a link that might be useful: Custom water fall walls...See MoreHelp! Comments (21)Here's another pic I took with my displaced demilune. It's there because I moved it from a hallway nook to put up a xmas tree. That table is actually not all that awkward, but I agree that it might be tiresome when cleaning the floor. I would love to move all that stuff off the side of the frig. It's only cluttered during the school year, I swear! I'm leaning toward a magnetic chalkboard wall where that table is, and maybe a row of hooks on the wall parallel to the frig. I'm going to investigate exactly what it would take to just move the wall back to even with the laundry room door. Then, I could turn it into a small office area and reclaim my dining room!...See Morewhat do I do with this awkward space?! PLEASE help!
Comments (20)I can’t tell you how much this feedback is helping! I’ll have to wait to give those exact dimensions as we are not in the house just yet. We close May 11th and have to be out of our current home June 4th. We are trying to complete this entire renovation in that short amount of time! Rip out walls, take out all the carpet upstairs, put hardwood floors in the kitchen, dining room, living room, stairwell, and hallway, paint, build island and pantry. We are kinda crazy. We also have a 2 year old and 8 month old. This will hopefully be something we laugh about someday! We just feel so fortunate to have some overlap with our houses to be able to renovate while living in our current home. No furniture...just a clean slate!...See MoreRL Relocation LLC
