90 something & finished, need backsplash advice-PICS
Comments (59)Teppy, In my gut I know that I will not do as good a job as you did if I try to paint on my own. You have excellent taste and are very meticulous. Me....not so much. I do have a laundry room I can experiment with if I need to. I am definitely going to get a quote from a painting company, think I found one, that paints woodwork, cabinet and such. They do a lot of work for builders and had excellent pictures online. I have to get an exterior quote as well. When I get closer to actually beginning I'll post before pictures. I tried previously but couldn't figure it out. Maybe I'll take a look again this weekend. Yes, there is enough room for walking if the seating is added. It would be so nice for entertaining, cooking with the kids, kids doing homework etc. We have an eating nook that accomodates only a 48" round table comfortablly so the extra space would be nice plus it's just more social. I want to compare the painting cost vs. refacing. I'm actually hoping it's not that different because then the KD w/the refacing company could be the GC for the whole job whereas if we go the painting route I'll have find a GC on my own. Will defenitely try to figure out the picture deal so I can post. Thanks for the responses. Z....See Morecolours for backsplash that work with soapstone
Comments (10)I have very similar colors (BM Chantilly Lace shaker cabs, SS appliances and hood, dark brown floors), except I used super white quartzite on perimeter and island. We used soapstone for our beverage/wine bar and that was the stone that was harder to match a colored tile with. Ended up going with blue-grey ceramic tile... complements well with both the SW and the soapstone, which has a blue-green streak thru it. Here are photos of my soapstone, the beverage counter and the whole kitchen....See More☼ Looking for advice. White or blue fan tile backsplash in my kitchen?
Comments (12)I think i'd go ahead and paint the island if you want the blue theme without a doubt. I'd delay the counter and backsplash. It's a kitchen for two counters-island and perimeter....and the blue "fan" theme is not right for the long skinny backsplash. It plays better where it goes higher on a bigger expanse as shown near that hood. You don't have that dimension at all. the dark look and the fan pattern will scrunch the visuals in your strip. Hold off …..search for two counter materials and then the backsplash will fall into place. The blue island will work with the brown counters for the time being anyway. You'll get there...slow down a bit....See MoreTile Back-Splash Placement Advice Needed
Comments (1)If I understand correctly, the wall cabinets on the sink wall will be replaced. Give that, I would run the tile to the ceiling, like the range wall...See Morejlmjpmsam
