Comments (129)I suspect washing realigns the fibers in the knit and puts them back to original shape more than shrinkage -- unless they are going too hot. Heat can seriously shrink or stretch out plastic. You said yours gave but you didn't think they really stretched much. I would not think you would have a problem, but I would not wash in hot water or even very warm. The plastic is not porous and doesn't need hot water to sanitize it. I felt the same way about the loafers, but I can wear black shoes a lot and I got an email saying today only. I guess that was just a one day preview if you were on the mailing list? Cuz they are still there. Anyway, I like them very much. I have suede smoking flats, but could wear these in weather where the suede would not work. And the black fabric is dark and rich in color -- looks dressier. Really flattering. My husband said they were his favorite, and he likes the taupe. I need to see when my 30 days is up. LOL One pair has to make the outdoor and running around test. May happen today. We are planning on going to an art festival and that front coming through has everything king of drippy in front of it. It is supposed to get colder while we are out, but not into the 40s until tonight. I hope I like them as much as you do....See MoreAnnual Fall Shoe Quest
Comments (49)I am so disappointed to hear this. I agree that it would be strange to see the exact same pattern on both feet -- especially in this style which makes the pattern so prominent on the foot. Ive been on the fence about ordering another size after my size was sold out. I had planned to get a wide to allow room for socks but I have a pair of boots where I did the same and my foot moves around in them too much. I think I am going to pass. It's a shame though because I find the other snake patterns too small and too busy. I haven't had time to shop for other styles but I think my next focus will be a pair of light gray suede pointy toe booties. I am also tempted by the blondo waterproof booties that don't LOOK like rain boots. Ive had fall shoes out all week-- I worked at home on Wed when we had 90+ temps but the rest of this week has been pretty darn cool.. my heat came on this morning! It's time.. it's time for new slippers too!...See MoreSlippers that don’t look like slippers. Birdies? Something else?
Comments (45)Missed this thread. I was looking for the same at the same time! Gone are the days when I can putter around the house in Isotoners. Returned some canvas Sketchers memory foam slip-ons I bought online that didn't fit. (They felt cheaper than their 40 bucks too.) Ended up in a real store trying on real comfort shoes and splurged on a pair of Aetrex shoes. Strictly for getting things done around the house. They aren't the most stylish and squeak a bit but they are supremely comfortable. Incredible how much energy you have when you feel as if you're walking on a cloud. Hoping they'll last me a few years. I inherited a pair of leather Rohde sandals that are exquisitely comfortable and supportive but they're open-toed. I'll be keeping an eye out for a closed "shoe" from Rohde because their sandals fit me to perfection. Wishing us all happy feet in 2021! :)...See MoreComfy and (maybe ) stylish - SHOES?
Comments (41)(Well hopefully I can reply). This has been so helpful. I am reminded of several good brands as well as learning of so many new ones. Part of my issue I have to confess is that I am a bit tight with money (as in cheap). I really like the Ilse Jacobsen and of course Naot.I guess I have to just get over myself and order some shoes and if they are not comfy just send them back. I think part of it is that I want comfy ( being able to walk a lot and on cobblestones but to look a bit sweeter than sneakers. I really like the ones Terri shared. Are they good for walking? Funny, when I went to search for them, I think the gladiator term took me to these by Ecco Gladiator which look very promising. I always go with black but I am thinking tan will work well. I agree shoes are heavy and bulky and I don't want to pack too many. While I'd love to buy shoes there, I don't want to rely on that. I am talking myself into springing for some of them and believe me, I know how bad it gets when shoes are not comfortable for walking. Oh man- now I see when I put in MY size, several of them are not in stock or are way more $$. I guess I'd better get with the program here....See More- 4 years ago
