Comments (26)more water generally = larger caudex but don't overdo it (in the ground these are pretty darn hard to over water, and frankly I have never managed to overwater one in a pot, either.. .but I am supposed to warn you not to rot your plant... ). Shouldn't be any rush, though... one thing that does seem to limit caudex size is multiple plants per pot, so if you want larger caudeces, you might want to do something about that. I have several plants in various sun exposures and caudex size also seems to relate to amount of sun (more sun, larger caudex). Those growing in some shade end up growing tall and skinny and take a lot longer to get a larger caudex...See Moresticks and snails and puppy dog tails
Comments (6)I've been terrible about taking pictures of him. They would have shown truly amazing growth -- like scientists should study this kind of growth because they could look at it in real time. You can practically watch him growing. And, sadly, I missed the photos of the early stages. There was a cuteness about him when he was just a couple months old that he's lost as he's grown a bit and figured out how to get the better of us and how to keep those big paws underneath him. He was so cute when he was little and tripping every step! (Don't most puppy parents think that?) He's still periodically cute, but in a smarter, do you see what I'm doing and are you too tired to stop me kind of way. (yes, I do. and yes, i've had a long day. stop eating the coasters. please. PLEASE!) We wanted a big dog, so we're happy that he's growing up as big as we'd hoped (the giant paws gave him away. At three months, he had bigger paws than our 90-pound lab.) And one day, he'll stop eating whatever fits in his mouth. Hopefully. Maybe tomorrow I'll find time to get the card for the new camera that I bought to take pictures of the new pup while he was still cute.... and hopefully he'll be cute tomorrow. (and he's going to be retested for heartworms, just in case. i don't think we have lung worms here.)...See MoreHi!! Checking in....an update, some growing kids & a puppy!

Comments (1)I really don't even know what to say after reading something so horrible. Horrible isn't even a strong enough word. I often, well, probably most of the time, don't understand the world, let alone some of the sick, twisted, demented creatures that live here....See MoreElizabeth
