I use a round charging pad. No need to center it, just plop it down and it buzzes and lights up briefly to let me know it is connected. Could not be easier.

I do when working at my daughter's house because that's all they have. It's a fast charge too. At home, I plug in.

Have an Android and have had one for years. Mine is from IKEA, it's great at night to not have to plug your phone in, just plop it down on the circle.

I use the charging pad I bought at Five Below for $4. :) Works fine through my case. I have five of them - one in the bedroom, kitchen, office, living room, and at my desk at work. :)

I've never fully grasped the attraction of wireless charging. I don't find plugging in devices to be difficult or inconvenient.

I use a fast charger that plugs into my car's power outlet (lighter socket). It charges the phone in 1/4 to 1/3 of the time needed by the wall outlet charger. I find that is the only one I need.

I have a wireless charger and like it. There isn’t necessarily an attraction, per se, but it came bundled with my phone so I use it. The phone does not need to be centered on the charger. There are no cons in my estimation. I do like that it stands my phone up so I can see it at a glance on my desk. This is the kind I have.

Ha ha Elmer, I kind of was asking two things.

1) None of the images I found shows a cord, so I wondered if the charger itself is, well, rechargeable.

2) But also, if they do have a cord (which is what I would expect, images notwithstanding), having them throughout the house means having them near an outlet.

We have a few charger cables around the house, and one in the car, but our new phones charge soooooo much faster than our old (7-year-Old!) phones and hold a charge so much longer, that we don’t have to use them as much.

My daughter's family uses the larger surface chargers equipped to charge two phones and a watch. That reduces cable clutter from three to one. That's practical for her family.

At my house we charge our phones every other day so a plug in is practical.

bpath, I figured you had something like that in mind. If you look at electrical device photos as on Amazon, power cords are often not shown. I suspect to keep photos clean and uncluttered.

Everyone has a different system and perhaps different for me as a male without a purse but I tend to have places I like to leave things so I don't need to look for them. Car keys are in two drawers (2 dongles for each) and my wallet is elsewhere. I put my phone down and charge it in another place. I never have to look for anything because if not in my pocket, they're in their regular spot.

Some phones have dedicated/paired wall warts and I find charging works better when using them but you can use other ones too. You can also get electrical wall socket panels that also have USB sockets in them. Extra USB cords for phones and tablets for use in cars or multiple locations are cheap, often around $5 each. Check out the website for monoprice, it has inexpensive products usually of adequate quality.

a smart charger, like the Samsung, that cuts out when your battery is full will extend the life of your phone's battery. i try to not run my battery below 40 per cent. my standup charger has a tiny light. red, charging. green, charged. it cuts off charge when the battery is full, to avoid overheating.

cheap cables and chargers can adversely affect your battery. not all, but some.

lithium is , I'm told, more sensitive to over voltage/ overcharging. i have Samsung phones, and use Samsung chargers and cables. so far, my Samsung phones have been very happy. same charge life, almost two years later .

If you could see part of my kitchen counter where we plug in our phones, our kindles, our watches, DH's hearing aid cleaner, the idea of wireless sounds pretty enticing to me.

I think I will now be in the market for the larger pad someone referenced that can charge more than one phone at a time. I think it's a great idea. I don't see the appeal of the standing one though, I think a mat would be great.

The non scientist paranoid part of me does worry about the exposure issue though. (as I said, I am not from the science crowd so don't yell). Kind of like the high tension wires. ?

I use a round charging pad. I don't have a problem with plugging in my phone to charge, but one of my five cats does. Rina has chewed through many a cord. I suspect she gets a little buzz from doing it. Of course, the pad is corded, but I've got it plugged in behind my nightstand and it is against the wall, so no cord is exposed. It's odd, but she doesn't chew "regular" electric cords, only the thin cords used to charge our phones and tablets.
