Black v. white bathroom counters

We are using leathered black mist granite for our kitchen, and our plan had been to use the same for the master bath vanities, with a neutral white quartz (Pental Cascade White) for the tub surround. A couple of small changes has pushed us over such that we need a separate slab for the master bathroom, which requires a decision: stick with black counters (in which case we'll find another slab of leathered black granite) or switch to the quartz for the vanity counters. The other bathroom finishes will be black windows, wood and white cabinets, and a porcelain tile that is a very good imitation of calacatta marble (single tile used everywhere, just different sizes for different locations). The cost is likely to be within the margin of error, so to speak, either way, possibly slightly less with the quartz.

Thoughts? I'm a bit worried that the black granite will be too visually heavy, but it also adds a nice contrast to the otherwise neutral finishes.
