I have a small black and white bathroom.

New black and white tiled bathroom with polished chrome fixtures. (faucet, towel bar, etc.). I ordered a mirror that I love but it has a brushed nickel frame, that is just above the polished chrome faucet. Would adding a polished chrome light fixture above the mirror help balance out the metals, or must I replace the mirror?

I think it looks fine. Lots of bathrooms are done with mirrors in various colors and finishes that don’t exactly match the fixtures. They‘re functional, obviously, but also design accents.

Not a pro... I have a hard time wrapping my brain around too many finishes. I’ve been known to find something I love and paint it. In your case I would paint the mirror black (spray paint, lots of online tutorials) and put a chrome fixture above it. But I’m just a super concrete unimaginative homeowner who likes projects.

It is really hard to diagnose these things. I appreciate all the help and links that have been extremely helpful. I may post some pictures tonight. I don't think my thatch is as bad as I thought but I have been reading that a dethatch may help. they are definitely white webs in and under the thatch but I have not seen a single worm or grub or anything. I have seen a flurry of moths at one point as I mentioned early. I am partly wondering if the grass is drying out and fighting dormancy. The backyard looks a lot better more green. The thing that gets me is that there is no spots it's a noticeable discoloration and dryness in. the entire lawn. After my last application I was expecting a nice green up. I refuse to put down an insecticide if I don't need it. I've read multiple sites stating that BT is a viable option for the webworm.

I like timeless tile schemes also, like your all white...and have learned from experience and too much analyzation of inspiration images that texture and layers trump color for impact. Break your white up by using shadow as a color- variences in tile depth when trim pieces are added (chair rails, bullnose, baseboards...) break up the flatness of simple field tile. Adding a horizontal line with trim at a traditional or non-traditional height and/or changing the direction of the subway for some portion of the room- breaks it up and keeps your options open for adding color to less perminant layers in the room. Also, you're right on about adding a bit of color between the floor and walls- I don't think matching wall base tile to the floor border tile is the best solution...keep the plane-change-line sharp. If you use small hex for the floor, consider a contrast by inserting a grey hex every 1/2 foot or so (the wide-spread polka dot effect will open the area too)or add the grey hex as a 3-4" solid or checked floor border around the entire room. Since there will be little color contrast on the walls, a contrast where floor meets wall is warming because it grounds the room. This is fun, huh? kat

This normally would have to be a wall hung toilet. Which requires replumbing, framing, and patching the floor where the flange was. What you are looking for is rare and expensive. I found one, but not sure on the installation specs. Love the mirror! I think it looks fine just add something organic like a plant to the counter, some towels, etc

It works. I wouldn't worry about the finishes.

I would have done a mirror like one of these,, but that's me

if you want some drama, do a white/black bone inlay and paint the wall black (or dark gray)

If you notice, the suggestions of a black mirror show them over vanities that are not black.

You have enough black.

If you didn’t mention it, I would not have noticed. It is such a lovely mirror, it would be a shame to not keep it.

If it really bothers you, see if you can find something similar in chrome.

We all like to match things but I think that a mirror can stand alone.

I wish I could see the entire bathroom bc that would help with suggestions...but from what I can see, I’d say replace the mirror. It’s cute, but maybe try a wooden framed one?

she has a black and white bathroom. using a black rimmed mirror is hardly black overload

It is definitely ok to mix metals, I would add some greenery to the room/counter top (maybe a nice low light pothos plant). In the end it boils down to personal opinion and the main question is - do you feel good about the space or do you feel like something should be different?
