Mr. Nibbles - my grand-bunny
Comments (6)Most kids want a kitten or a puppy - she's always wanted a rabbit. Always. The saddest part is that rabbits don't live very long, even well cared for rabbits like hers. She will be devastated when he passes away. But she is a sweet girl and she raised a sweet bunny. He is a beautiful creature. She's done well by him....See MoreFrank- (or anyone)Here's my Grand Marquee
Comments (7)I think Zilis and others have pretty well shot down the idea that Grand Marquee has any Tokudama background. Most experts feel it is similar to, if not identical to Touch of Class. The same could be said for several other newer ones, including Catherine. Here is a good read from last fall at the Hallson Gardens forum: http://perennialnursery.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=53928&p=469036&hilit=catherine#p469036...See MoreMy Grand Project for This Year
Comments (90)Since the season is beginning to wind down, I decided it was time to start some preliminary sculpting on Skull Mountain. It had gotten nice and bushy, but since I want it to look like a tree some of those side limbs needed to go. By trimming off the lower ones (that didn't have any fruit set on them) now, I'll give the wounds time to scab over and heal before the big final chop down. Try to limit the stress I put on it at any one time. Before: After: And just because I thought that big gaping hole in the bottom of the mountain was, well, gaping, I made a decoration to put in front of it....See MoreGrand Canyon backcountry- no tourists/pictures
Comments (5)You Bet! We moved out here from Newville, Pa 7 years ago. The blizzard of 96 did it for the wife. She said she wanted to move to the desert and no more snow! Well, she found a place in the edge of the Mojave, St. George, Utah. Great place and close to the natl parks and desert. Glad to be a tourguide. I sometimes lead hikes for the senior hiking club in the area. I do miss PA in the fall, though. What a pretty state with real trees!! The trees here in the desert are spiny and spindley. My tree in the front yard has no fall colors. The leaves all drop off in one day! All 12 of them.... ;)...See More
