Anyone been to Azores?
Comments (6)I visited my friend who was living on Terceira Island in the late '90s.... it was for a week in July and it was amazingly beautiful!!! The entire island was covered in blue hydrangeas and dotted with tiny pink roses. :) The weather was *perfect*, golf course was *perfect*, coffees wonderful and food fantastic -- one drawback for me was the limited availability of vegetables, because Terceira is primarily a dairy island -- otherwise I might have wanted to move there. lol! I doubt if much has changed since then... the locals were *extremely poor*.... and paper products hardly existed (e.g., restroom facilities weren't exactly to US standards. lol!). Travel to/from is also severely limited... basically limited-schedule charter flights from Boston/Logan and now Toronto has been added too. Supposedly, the larger islands are set up to better handle tourists, so some problems I encountered shouldn't exist there now. Thought you wouldn't mind if I posted a photo from the trip. I'd love to go back. :) This post was edited by party_music50 on Wed, Dec 31, 14 at 9:06...See MoreNeed a little R & R....
Comments (22)If you do not plan on getting a car there is a little section on the Jupiter Tequesta border that's nice. I'd keep an eye on the weather forecast though. Days have been nice but tonight's a bit nippy. Tuesday week on...afternoons in the seventies or eighties, the evenings in the 60's. Lots to do if you feel like venturing out. The longest you would have to walk is a tic over 1 mile. There are a couple of Tiki type waterfront restaurants that overlook the lighthouse, there are boat tours of the rich and famous. I went on the one listed below with visitors and it was fun . There is also kayak rentals about a half a mile from the resort. You can wear shorts or casual type clothing everywere as this little section is casual to upscale casual. Safe area for walking. The resort might have bike rentals but not sure. http://www.jupiterbeachresort.com/about-us/ http://www.utikibeach.com http://squaregrouper.net http://manateequeen.com https://www.guanabanas.com http://m.jupiteroutdoorcenter.com/?dm_redirected=true#3030...See Morenicole: need your recommendations
Comments (17)collenoz....Australia, Pixie Pinnacle, is my favorite dive site! Ideally....I'd like to MOVE to Australia. Natliewhatley....Provo has fabulous hotels AND restaurants! Been to Turks & Caicos twice. Chaka Khan was loudly playing on the beach, last time I was there. Honestly Glenda...if he's REALLY into diving he'd be doing live aboards. Two boat dives a day is NOT enough to travel all THAT way. We get in five dives a day on a yacht....See MoreDo you buy travel insurance?
Comments (31)I've been checking weather reports for the South Pacific, and it looks like we will have decent weather for our trip. That was my main concern regarding insurance. We will not be doing anything risky that I think we would need insurance for, and so I think I will forego it this time, but I will still consider it for the future.\ As for bags not arriving, since we have a non-stop flight, I don't think there is much chance that they would get lost. I try to get non-stop flights whenever possible for this reason, but that was not possible when we went to Brazil, and nothing bad happened. I had not been told about trip/travel insurance before we went, and as it turned out, we did not need it. We also had non-stop flights to Rome when we went to Italy, but I would have been concerned if we had had to change planes in Paris or London. This information has been very helpful to me, and I will remember it for future trips....See Morenini804
