Choosing the right flooring, HELP?
Comments (4)Not too long ago someone posted a picture on this forum of a vinyl plank (wood look) tile floor that they put in a sunroom. It was very pretty. With something like that, you would have the "softness" of vinyl for your feet and back, and yet have the wood look without having to worry about wood being damaged by water in the kitchen. If I can find the link I will post it for you. Plus, being planks, if you ever did have one damaged I would think it would be easy to replace a plank or two....See MoreCan You Help Me Choose a Floor Lamp Style
Comments (2)bronwynsmom, Thank you for posting the link. I really like that style, and the price is reasonable. Question - It's also offered in antique nickel, and I have nickel fixtures throughout that space and accenting the stove. I haven't any bronze, so I'm curious why that's the finish you suggested. Do you think it's a better choice with the chair? To your eye is it better to mix it up and introduce another finish than to try to match?...See MoreHelp me choose the right sectional
Comments (9)I too like the idea of the brown floors and couch, with a light rug to break it off. However I'm concerned that this particular model won't look nearly as good on brown as on the lighter colors. I'll attach a photo of a similar model so you can see what I mean. I don't think it's the color itself, but the styling that makes it look a bit weird to my eyes. Is it just me, or does something about it seem... off? Oh, and two more questions: the size is 310x260 cm (122x102 inches) do you think that's too big for the space? And last, price wise we're talking around the $5k mark, do you think that's too much? Like I said before it does seem a bit steep to me, but I have no experience shopping for couches really :) However it is one of the more expensive ones from the one I've looked at, but seemed to be on par with other italian brands on leather... As far as comfort goes, what I really like about this couch is that it has a system where the back support goes all the way to the back, and transforms the regular sitting area into a mini-chaise long, so to say. It's very comfy, for sure. The couch does come in fabric as well (which is about a grand cheaper), but it seems to me the design kinda calls for leather? see below: This post was edited by the13th on Sat, Aug 2, 14 at 5:18...See MoreCan You Help Me Choose A Lamp
Comments (10)Oh such a cozy room! Just beautiful. I'd pick a table lamp, since you have 2 floor ones already.. And I'd make it totally different..no reason for it, except that I like all the lamps to be different:) And you already clearly love eclectic-so why not to have fun. Just make sure it gives a light you love Because one of mine-a torchiere- was a bit dim and yellow. And we changed it for a bright white. And I found it impossible to read there-it hurt my eyes. So we changed it again for dim and yellow..:) And I'd look for something that you can direct differently..like your black one? I love it by the way. I found an old vintage tole light on Etsy I think..now I can read in bed, at last. Because nice but ambient light that was on the nightstand before didn't work, and overhead light is not enough at some point. I like this small tole light..the only problem it gets really hot, after some time..so I need to remember not to touch the shade when directing it....See MoreUser
