Finding furniture to match grey sectional
I just purchased a sectional and need help selecting furniture. I’ve included photo of previous owners setup and a floor plan(ignore dimensions). The tv has to go on the wall with the window die to cable wire. I’m starting with an empty room other than the sectional. I usually go with brown so the grey is new to me. Will brown furniture work or is it too much with the wood trim? Any help is appreciated.

Comments (4)I love brown and gray together. I am furnishing my new to us house that also has gray walls and white trim. I just purchased a dark gray sofa and am in the process of pulling everything else together. I have dark wood furniture in the room. I notice that your sofa has nail head trim and I think it ties in with the nailhead on the ottoman. I love how rooms look collected, not just like someone purchased a showroom collection with all of the matching accessories. I would switch out a couple pillows for dark ones to tie it all in together, and some dark wooden furniture pieces such as an end table or cabinet will help tie it together too....See MoreCouches & Colors to Match this Sectional

Comments (6)I'm partial to Lee Industries and The MT company - they have a lifetime warranty on both the frame and suspension. Both of these companies have large scale sectionals that could work. The Lee 5392 has both modular and non-modular options. The MT Oliver sectional is very large scale. Comments (13)Thanks for the great tips. Yes, it's a good point that 16 won't be sitting at the same time...more like 12 or so. Sadly, I have to go fairly dark due to the cleaning and staining issues. I should have added that I plan to add a large 12 x 15 area rug to break up the dark sofas from the darkish wood. I can't go with medium gray because it will look too "matchy-matchy" with the med. gray stone fireplace. Quick question/concern...I searched for sofas that are made from "Sunbrella" people here suggested and there are only a few and they are outdoor sofas. Mostly, the Sunbrella fabric is pillows. Also, I'll be removing both sofa tables behind the sofas that are there now, so that will give me another~ 4+ feet. But I still plan on putting more narrow sofa tables as I don't want the sofas right up against the walls, so it will be more like an extra 2 feet I'll be gaining. Any other suggestions for a "tough" fabric that won't be torn easily? We've had issues with guests sitting on the sofas, etc., with keys, etc, in their back pockets that tear the fabric or snag it. What are opinions on leather? Vinyl? Also, I'd like to lighten up the room with a cleaner, more modern white (ish) paint, maybe with a touch of gray, )but not with any blue or "pink" in it.) The walls are now painted Sherwin-Williams "Accessible Beige" and the Doors (not seen in the pictures are "Dovetail"...which I LOVE, but is way too dark for the walls. I've already gone down the line of the "Dovetail" paint strip and the lighter colors look kinda "pink-ish" in that room.) Thanks again everyone...See More- PRO

4 years agoI’m stuck with the grey sectional...and a sofa loveseat in slate grey. I picked couches the last two times so I let my husband (couches) and kids (sectional) pick. I have a family room in the basement I could put the sectional down there. That leaves me with the really dark grey couches upstairs. I thought the lighter grey would be the better choice for the wood trim. The living room is 15x16. The door is not one we will typically use as there are two other entrances besides this side door. I plan on painting walls and replacing carpet. Turquoise looks nice with the dark grey, not sure how it will come together with the wood trim. The couches will be here next week. I can update once they are actually in the space.

4 years agoHi Lisa, I'm Poorvi. Its great that you will be painting the room as its a tad too dark right now. SW Gratifying Green,SW Supreme Green or SW Topiary Tint would be a good option for your walls if you still want a hint of green. Here's a layout of what your room would look like with the light grey sectional. The TV would work well on the wall along the entry. The TV between the two windows will cut off a lot of light. You could use a pop of color for your drapes and pick pillows and a rug that coordinate.
