Underlayment under LVP with uneven surface

Hi, really need some help. Pulled up old laminate in kitchen and old carpet in front room. Want to install LVP over new open floor plan. Unfortunately, we found old linoleum glued to subfloor under the old laminate. We would prefer not to tame this up in case of absestos and damage to subfloor...can we install LVP with attached cork backing directly over linoleum and existing wood subfloor even though there is a 1/8 in difference between the two across the span of the room? Or can we install an underlayment pad on the subfloor side to lessen the difference in elevation? Remember there is attached cork backing to LVP...any advice is greatly greatly appreciated!!
