2 story foyer lighting
Comments (0)I'm replacing our foyer lighting and would appreciate some help. The room measures 12 x 13 and I would guess it is about 20 ft tall. I really like this Ballard Designs pendant, but know it is not big enough: http://www.ballarddesigns.com/delaney-pendant/lighting/pendant-lights/224857?listIndex=19 Does anyone know where I can find a bigger version? Or do you have other suggestions? I'd like to keep the price reasonable too. As far as style goes, my kitchen has the pb hundi lantern and bd montessart chandelier. And I'm eyeing the vc marigot chadelier for the adjacent dining room. http://www.potterybarn.com/products/hundi-lantern/?pkey=cchandeliers-pendants (in black) http://www.polyvore.com/montserrat_chandelier_iron_aluminum/thing?id=32030869 http://www.homeclick.com/visual-comfort-chc1415r-chart-house-6-light-marigot-chandelier-in-rusted-old-brass/p-488170.aspx...See MoreCan I modify this lantern chandelier?
Comments (12)The lantern might be a bit "insignificant" for a 2-story foyer. The chandelier we had in our 2-story foyer was probably around 4ft wide and 4ft tall. Traditional style with 3 tiers. Also think about how you will change the bulbs ... I was able to lean from the upstairs railing, use a hook to grab the chandelier, tilt it towards me and slowly rotate to change the bulbs. The original owner/builder should have added a motorized lift!...See Moresize of chandelier in a 2 story foyer
Comments (6)i just got through doing this too. it was super difficult to find because you need a pretty tall chandy to look ok in the two-story, but then most of the tall ones would look too massive for a foyer! i went with an inverted two tier chandy (with the base being smaller than the top) so that it would feel less heavy when you enter the house. i think my chandy was slightly larger than the rule of thumb recommended width, but it was ok since the larger width was up high and not down low where it would feel more heavy....See MoreChandelier sizing for 2-story foyer
Comments (0)my foyer is about 18 feet high. I'm looking for a carriage house iron chandelier. a lot of the ones i'm seeing are about 27 inches height. is this too small?...See Moreeverdebz
