Comments (12)The wall to the right as you enter the door is essentially one of the walls of the living room and it should not be ignored from the living room. Comments (5)This is my opinion. I am not a fan of having two chairs in an entry way. I only use one because it's not a space that you're going to sit down with someone else and have a conversation. So only use one chair. Do not hang signs with words on them. Your house is too nice to cheapen it with that sign, so I would remove that. Then your problem with that table wall is you have too many items and they're all too small. Remove all of that and get yourself a couple of bigger pieces that make sense to be on an entry table. So maybe one decorative piece with a large bowl or tray. Or maybe a tall faux arrangement in the center and nothing else, let the piece of furniture stand on it's own. No candles, personal pictures, vases with nothing in them .... none of those things make sense there. And then either hang a much larger mirror over it or a large piece of artwork. You only need one lamp in the entry way so if you have one on the small table by the accent chair, then don't put another one on that entry table....See MoreEntryway / Foyer in need of a console table.
Comments (18)You have a great style! I really like how you’ve decorated. I love that magnificent umbrella stand and would absolutely keep it in the entry if you like it there. It’d be a great, eclectic look, very unique, bold — gives a wonderful first impression of your beautiful home. Best of all, it has sentimental value to you. Plus, umbrella stands are perfect in an entry way. Form and function. ;) I wouldn’t go too simple. Your umbrella stand would eat a little console for a midnight snack, while y’all sleep. :D And any small console will look overwhelmed and boring in that entry. Keep it fabulous, glam, elegant like your other rooms. I’d try it with the console closest to the front door and umbrella stand beyond that. You’ll see when you get a table in there what feels right, you’re clearly a talented decorator. And a lamp shining in there would look so lovely and cozy from inside and out. Lovely curves .... This is an interesting look — a mix of very traditional (your stand) with a more modern lined piece .... A gorgeous vintage Hollywood Regency console (on the Chairish site) .... But I’m really in love with this Horchow piece (take a look at their other ones, too ... so many would look amazing there): https://www.horchow.com/Hooker-Furniture-Bien-Ame-Buffet-Chests-Consoles/cprod153500019_cat17840734__/p.prod?icid=&searchType=EndecaDrivenCat&rte=%252Fcategory.jsp%253FitemId%253Dcat17840734%2526pageSize%253D29%2526No%253D0%2526refinements%253D&eItemId=cprod153500019&cmCat=product...See MoreEntryway/Foyer in new Build Help Please
Comments (18)Today we met with the builder and we told him to take out the 5 foot closet right by the front door. This will create a 6 foot centered opening to the den/office with a 3 foot wall on either side . We are going to put a 3 foot closet down on the left right before you enter the rest of the house . It will butt into the bedroom there but they are going to make that all work :). I’ll post the new layout when I get it. I think this will open up the area a lot more. Then with additional ceiling lighting and some great decor and trim I think it’ll look good....See Moredecoenthusiaste
