PLEASE help me choose a bedroom HVAC unit or tell me what to do
Comments (17)can you please help with this. we decided the best thing to do is hook into the main HVAC for the living areas, Remove the bedroom HVAC all together. then replace the main HVAC unit with a state of the art 3 stage system (he uses american standard) Here is my question. Today in Florida it is 49 degrees! freezing for here. humidity in the house is like 20% but for some reason in my bedroom its like 60% (no ac running cuz its cold) Same floor, same type doors and windows, adjacent to living space, My room always feels damp. smells like mildew. Two mold companies have come and tested with meters to look for moisture in the floor or behind the walls and found none. I am convinced there is some sort of dampness present in this room (no carpets or drapes ) only tile, wood furniture. not much clutter, closets have been emptied into another room in prep for remediation, new roof, ducts have been cleaned, attic crawl space has been checked. HVAC unit is not dripping or clogged(that i can see, was just serviced and uv light added) the HVAC plenum is dry (although there is mold on the drywall in there) waiting for remdeation. My question is where else can i look for a moisture source? does mildew (smelling like damp towels that have sat for a while) have to mean there is a sitting water source somewhere? any other ideas. isnt it logical that if its a freezing day here i shouldnt need AC to draw humidity out of my room today?!...See MorePlease help me spruce up my bedroom decor!
Comments (4)I do think you have too much that matches. For art, I'd get what you love and not worry about whether it's the same size or "coordinates" or anything else. You might do a small gallery wall on one side (including one or two 3-dimensional pieces), and a large image (canvas or framed) on the other. But whatever you decide, don't go out and look for "art." Look for what you love; maybe you already have it! I'd replace at least one of the lamps with something different since the nightstands appear to be the same. (Again, something you love.) If it's you and your partner you can each decorate or keep on your nightstand what works for you be it a plant, pictures, water pitcher, books, reading glasses, etc. These should be your individual islands that work for you and less a "decorating surface." If the colors work for you, great! But I find them dull and uninteresting. (That said, I despise browns and beiges and grays so take my advice for what it is worth.) What colors turn you on? Use some of them in wallpaper, paint, curtains, pillows, comforter....See MorePlease help me make this bedroom furniture work
Comments (4)My bedroom furniture has a similar wood color with sherwin Williams silverplate 25% lighter and it looks wonderful together along with off white simple linens. I think you are on the right track with neutral colors....See MorePlease help me decide which of these bedroom colors!
Comments (8)My intent was to paint before the flooring is in so I can take advantage of the furniture being out of the room (my husband will not be down for helping me move it all out of the room twice), and also it would just be nice to not have to worry about covering the flooring in order to paint. I considered painting AFTER the flooring is done, before the furniture is moved back into the room, but then I'm starting all over again with paint color options & the pressure to get it all done so our bedroom is functional again. :) I really didn't want to go with white in this room, and the current color is too yellow for my taste, so I've been trying to find a tan-ish color that keeps it neutral but doesn't go yellow. Totally open to paint suggestions & the bedding isn't something that can't be changed. For reference: PO - Pale Oak RP - Revere Pewter AG - Agreeable Gray...See Morenjmomma
