First Home! Exterior help?
Comments (14)The shutters need to go and not come back. They are much too small for the double windows. If you do remove the shutters you could do a larger trim around the windows. First and least expensive things to do are to paint the front door a color that draws attention to it and then redo the landscaping. Do you want to keep a railing? If the change in elevation from the door to the surrounding area is less than 30" then the railing is not required. If you want to keep it then I would either do a white or black railing. Long term I would add a small front porch as was suggested to add to the front facade. Using a large square wood column like on the carport would tie it to the existing facade. Comments (4)The shutters on the large windows are inappropriate for the house. Shutters should fit the window and be able to close. The shutters on the small windows on the right side of the front door look fine, the ones on the large windows do not. It's up to you to paint the brick. I LOVE painted brick and would do it in a heartbeat. However, if you do, make sure you use the proper product. Romabio is a masonry paint great for this project....See MoreHome Exterior Help!

If not, and you cut it down, then go to the Dollar store and buy the biggest flower plastic flower pot you can find (put drainage holes in the bottom), in a color that goes with the blue, and fill the pot with dirt, and either buy a bunch of brightly colored flowers, or even a fake flower arrangement, would look nice there, if it is well arranged, and quite full....See Moreanci335
