LR - TV and Fireplace placement
Comments (6)Will you actually use the fireplace? How much use will the t.v. get? Is it for occasional viewing or nightly viewing? How much use will the t.v. get? Is it for occasional viewing or nightly viewing? Which direction are those windows facing? This arrangement is not good if you will actually use the fireplace, with one of the couches with it's back to the fire and neither near it. If you go with this t.v./fireplace arrangement I'd consider placing your sofas in an L so both can view both the t.v. and the fireplace. With windows on three sides this seems like a problematic room for t.v. viewing, as I'd assume you'll get a lot of glare. Perhaps you could put the t.v. opposite the fireplace, and arrange the furniture so that there are two seating areas? Also, make sure you're mocking it up with furniture to scale so you can see what will work....See MoreTV placement vs Fireplace vs Windows in living room with view
Comments (5)Thank you. Honestly, we are avid TV watchers but aren't willing to sacrifice the view either. I can't really include pics as it is not torn out enough yet to see how it lays out. The ceiling is vaulted so the TV from the ceiling might not be best and would be down pretty much permanently. You use a small break for the TV. I considered putting a smallish fireplace on the window wall with a TV above but worried that blocking off the view would be a mistake i would regret. Also, If i put the TV on the window wall in any sort of built in manner, that would really limit changing furniture arrangement in the future. I really don't want to make a mistake!!...See MoreDecor above fireplace and tv placement
Comments (4)Hi, Colleen, yes I think a pretty piece of art or a mirror would look very nice with your fp. With young children, I’d most likely hang the TV on the wall. We have ours on a console, and I love it that way, but I don’t have little ones. With your console being pretty low, I’d worry about it getting bumped and the TV falling over. But I’m a worry-wart. 😄...See MoreFurniture placement with TV and Fireplace on opposite walls
Comments (8)I love your current furniture placement. If you are buying new, I'd try a sofa by the windows, and two side chairs (swivel would be nice!) where your current sofa is. Put a coffee table in front of the sofa, and a sofa table behind it (with lamps), and then add a table between the two chairs....See MoreTerra S.
