Please help! need inspiration for new mirror frames
Comments (3)Sorry, I looked in my bathroom album and don't have photos that could help. I don't think you'll need the mirrors to be as wide as the sink bases. I found a couple of matching mirrors at WalMart, of all places, for only $25.00 for our masterbath. I don't have picture of them up, but here's a picture of how they looked when I bought them and after I spray painted them with silver spray paint. The "after" is on the left. Have you looked for ready made framed mirrors? As for placement you'll want them at a height that works for both you and your hubby. Ours are 28 inches wide by 34 inches high. The sit just a little over an inch above the backsplash. Our vanity is 84 inches long with four banks of drawers. Two on either end and two sets in the middle. I hope this helps....See MoreMirror Mirror on the wall... help!
Comments (14)WOW! Thanks everyone! You've been busy helping me! Thanks for all the great ideas, everyone. Sadly, les917, not all is going to work especially the furniture arrangement! :( The room is 13Â 6" by 18 4". The French doors arenÂt the front entry, its going toward the sunroom, the entrance/entry is the opposite side with the halltree! ha Let me give you the dimensions and see if you can make the arrangement but I can promise you it wonÂt work. I have been struggling and move them around for 10 years and this is far the best I can get. Dimensions: French doors are 6Â 5" Tiny wall next to it is 1Â 8" Fireplace mantel is 5Â 10" Window wall is 5Â The graduation pictures wall is 13Â 6" The tiny oval pictures wall is 2Â 4" The entrance towards the kitchen is 3Â 6" The anniversary wall is 4Â 7" The banister is 4Â 6" The entrance between banister and the wall is 3' 6" There are three entrances to this room (what a pain). The grand piano is 55" wide by 67" deep. It has to stay open for the better sound for he plays it everyday and teaches privately with his students 2 times a week. The sofa is 90" and the chair is 42" wide. The round end table is 29" diameter. The purpose of the dresser is where I keep candles and vases, etc. which I really donÂt have to have it. IÂm looking for a console for the right size to fit on that wall and IÂm having a hard time where now IÂd like to store music sheets/books. I did have it by the piano/stairway wall, it doesnÂt look right and made the entrance too narrow. The coffee table is 36" square (cannot get rid of if because we display our daughter whom died of SIDS pictures/items in there. I can get rid of the floor lamp if husband doesnÂt get upset (it was given to him from his favorite aunt) and there is no overhead lighting but those two lamps for the room plus the tiny lamp for the piano which does get pretty dimmed (I just bought the lamp for the round table from Goodwill and going to change the lampshade verily soon)! WeÂve been talking about putting windows on the graduation wall but have to save $$ first! Please get back to me and see if you have any better ideas with the furniture! I really appreciate your feedback! Keep it coming! Thank you. Thank you! Comments (23)thanks for the additional comments. For clarification, the "warp is an overall slight warp for the door mostly in one corner, it's not that the plywood interior panel is wavy, it's pretty clean so I think the 1/8 inch plexi will work. I was thinking about using the mastic glue rather than the tape, but I am concerned about removing it if things don't go right. Is there an easy way to remove if I use the mastic rather than tape? I had a cheap mirror placed in the center of the door for about 10 years prior to refinishing and painting my doors, and it held quite well with tape. And it wasn't too difficult to remove. And Joseph, regarding the glass. The door was horizontal on sawhorse legs during the application of the mirror, so glass didn't go anywhere, and I don't have kids, but I appreciate your concern....See MoreBathroom mirror frame- mirror not centered on vanity
Comments (9)I did a little thinking on this. Light socket to left of mirror- it is attached to a stud on the right side of the little electrical box. I am going to replace it with a 3 capacity box, putting the socket in the spot on far left, then patch/cover the other two. This will allow me to move the mirror down a few inches to be centered on vanity. I will still have room between it and framed the mirror. Lights- I will then be able to center the lights on the vanity/mirror, not on the sinks. But the original hollywood light had one wire in middle of fixture. To install two lights I will need to split that and run through the studs to get to new opening for new fixtures. I was not thrilled about patching drywall to do this. But...... if I remove the mirror ( which is not glued as originally thought) I can open up the wall behind the mirror, do the split, bore through studs, run new wires up to the new fixtures holes. Then I patch the wall which will be covered by the mirror so it doesn't have to be perfect!!!! It is a lot of work but will be worth it in the end. Can't wait to finish and post pics....See MoreAnn Argone
