Is frameless shower movement typical?

We are hoping to design a 1/2” frameless glass shower enclosure and have come across a problem. The glass company says it is “safe” but not “recommended” to go frameless with a glass wall of this length and that a header, which we do not want is preferred. The door opening would be 31 1/2 and then there is a half wall of glass above a tiled knee wall which measures 57 1/2”. The issue is the company says there will be significant deflection or movement of glass unless the shower door is closed very gently.
Are they just trying to cover their bases? Is this common with frameless showers?

Thanks for any feedback.
