Help me choose a new kitchen table light
My home is open concept and I want to replace the kitchen table light (and move it so it is centered above the table). I am open to ideas! What light would you choose?
I’ve included photos of my family room and kitchen which are open to this area.

Comments (9)I think that a dining table should have comfortable chairs. Benches are the worst! No back support, you are sharing with other people so you can't pull the chair to your comfortable distance from the table. PLEASE consider a set with comfortable chairs, or purchase them separately. Many furniture stores sell them chairs separate from the table, find a table you like and then find chairs that go with it. Make sure there is room for the chairs under the table if the table has a drop underneath. Dining should be a comfortable experience, not a torture chamber, even if it is just for the kids! Comments (2)None of the above those edison bulbs will make everything have a yellow cast to it. If you insist on those then at least replace the bulbs with LEDs in 3500-5000K range to provide decent lighting in those areas.I would like to get some idea of your spaces and your style beofre suggesting anything. Comments (54)@salonva preliminary picture of the new countertops and sink!!! I'm really enjoying the new countertops. The fabricator is coming to do a second layer of sealant on the countertops too. We really love how this color looks. We worked on replacing 1/2 of the hinges yesterday with invisible ones- I'm hoping the rest will be done by the end of the week and that we may be able to paint the cabinets this coming weekend (at least the uppers!!) With that in mind, after seeing the countertops installed and envisioning the pure white cabinets, I'm thinking a white backsplash will look too sterile. I think once we have the cabinets painted I will do a separate post asking for new backsplash tile recommendations! but I figured I would share how the new countertops came out, The river white really looks nice!...See More

4 years agoOpen area will have several finishes and elements, 2 types of chairs.... I kinda wish for 1 surface and not a few lights added into the mix...I think they call that a 'cleaner look'

4 years agoI like the bottom one of those two and you're right about no brass and the first being too small. Here's a mock up, with me guessing your current is 30" or so and sizing accordingly
