Would it be weird to put a stone top on this coffee table?
Comments (15)I had a brilliant idea this morning. (In my humble opinion.) We are adding a small screen porch on our house within the next few months. I think our LR coffee table, perhaps with the frame spray painted a color, would be just great in the screen porch! Now, when outdoor furniture has glass, is it a different type of glass than what's in indoor furniture? I feel like that's a stupid question but I really don't know. I had one outdoor end table with a glass top once, and I'm thinking it just looked like extra-thick glass, but otherwise, just regular glass. My table should be fine in a screen porch, right? Comments (20)Hi Jck910! I think the rugs you suggested are beautiful. I like the middle one the most. I think the others are not quite my taste. However, I am very curious to see if it meshes well with the taupe sofas and blue accent chairs....See MoreWhat would you do in this family room?
Comments (20)OK, I will try to make modifications after I get off work today and post pics. I have often wondered about putting arched mirrors on each side of the fireplace, like these: Do you think these would work in the place of shelves? My hold up on the mirrors was wondering just exactly what they would reflect. I tried mirror on mantle, but it just reflected the fan, which wasn't a good reflection. To be honest, I am just afraid the shelving would give a good excuse to put out too much stuff. Groveraxle - thank you for the visual help! It shows a lighter sofa (whether it be leather of Flexsteel) would brighten up the room. Plus, it shows me that I wouldn't want an all white rug in front of lighter couch. Katinparadise - I really like those rugs, with copper in them. What the pics do not show is the room is open into brunch area with a copper ceiling. Will post pics, as I make progress. Thank you!...See Morehow to make my family room open floor plan cozy and put together
Comments (29)you may want to try sofa on the wall across from the window and love seat on window side. good job not crowding the window, by the way. if you move the sofa, keep the loveseat away from the window (you should be able to walk behind it) more on that later. having the sofas across from each other will open up the room and say "welcome, come on in" when you put a sofa across the room it says, caution keep out. your choice on how you want the room to feel. keep the sofa and loveseat the same distance from the fireplace sides, center them on fireplace not the room. if you want to keep the black footstool, try your red throw folded and draped over it and/or add a woven tray similar to your beautiful basket. (the tray will act as a place for snacks/remotes etc.) A lovely tall/and wide plant would be great behind/and to the side of the furniture on the window wall. (use a quality faux if you aren't a plant person or don't want to maintain it.)...See Moretita3333
