Has anyone grown Plumeria in Central inland CA?
Comments (31)They love heat,no doubt about it. Mine was from a cutting in 1998,..grew well,I planted in the ground in 2010,it nearly died as all roots and all but two main branches rotted in a wet year ..and looking back, letting grasses grow under it was a very bad, near lethal mistake. I now have planted out a second white plum..bare ground all around it. Slightly amended soils from years of being the vegetable garden years ago. All my other Plumeria in the central bay area are pot plants....See MoreI've been busy lately

Public is only one option. The others are private and to show anyone who has a link. Essentially, you would send the link instead of the sheet. The benefit is that us with the link would be able to see changes you make to the sheet, or maybe contribute if you enable that. Neat app. Dennis...See MoreHas anyone shopped electricity rates lately?
Comments (4)Well, I love the idea of shopping for electricity rates -- where I've lived in WI and MN, there's only one company that serves each area, so you're stuck with them if you want electricity. Our base monthly fee is $31.38. Yes, you're reading that right. Then the electric is .11330 per kilowatt hour. The company used to "give" water heaters away to their customers. Sounds good, doesn't it? Well, we've got an 80-gallon water heater in our basement, and our house size is less than 2,000 square feet. Your rates sound fantastic to me!...See MoreJust booked flight for trip to Napa - suggestions for lodging, etc?
Comments (19)I'd also check out Yountville and St. Helena, if you wanted to stay in Napa. Auberge du Soleil. Recommendations on food and lodging will vary on budget -- the skies the limit in Napa and Sonoma -- and regarding wineries, depending on varietal. Cabs? Chardonnay? Sparkling? Pinot? A little of everything? Recommendations on where to dine en route would vary on what time you are set to arrive. Davis is pretty much en route -- of note there are a couple new regional Chinese restaurants that are reportedly pretty good (eg Chengdu Style), Village Bakery (with pizza), Osteria Fasulo. That might be a counterbalance to what you might expect in Napa or Sonoma. Or you could just drive directly and stop at a place in Napa proper (Oenetri, Kenzo) or near Yountville (Bouchon, Redd Wood, Mustard's, Brix)....See Moresprtphntc7a
