Please help picking a new backsplash, I hate this one...
Comments (34)I don't think you're playing it safe. I think you're finding your style. We all mess up with our choices. If you take a look at the color tone of all your favorites and the one you installed; they are all light. So that's where you start. A light backsplash is definitely a perfect match for your stone. You cabs are darker and something light with some visual interest will be great. I think people find that visual interest in different things. Yours just happens NOT to be in tumbled stone. One is not "more right" then the other. I happen to find I'm always drawn to glass... it's just a matter where you taste lies. I can't wait to see it photoshopped. I have no clue how to do that or I do it for you!...See Morehelp picking backsplash 'accent' -crimson cabinet, white granite
Comments (7)Hmm. I really like the glass on the right with the granite and cabinets. It's the marble that needs to go. I agree with RMS that if you keep the marble, stick with the one shape, and the shape that goes with the accent. I don't suppose you could get that accent tile in just the light shade and use that as the field tile with the accent running through the middle could you? I just don't think the marble agrees with the granite I guess, but definitely not in two shapes. You need it to be more neutral....See MoreHelp! Backsplash is back ordered and need help picking new one!
Comments (7)If you like the backordered backsplash, just wait for it to come in. December isn't that far off. If you are worried your GC will be gone when the backordered backsplash comes in, don't worry about it. Either ask him to come back when the tile is in, and withhold some payment until the backsplash is complete, or, just hire a tile installer for the job when the tile comes in (look on Angie's List or Yelp). A tile installer will probably do a better job than your GC anyway, since he specializes in tile....See MoreDo I Need BackSplash? Help with Suggestions!

I'll gladly let you snatch that paint brush out of my hand. ha ha. But at the same time if a little tiling will tie up the project, then I'm game. jodi_socal: I'm a little disappointed when you said fire and ice won't work. I just LOVE that F&I BS. But then agin, I think I know all along it's a little too much for my kitchen. Caryscott & petra: Thanks for the picture petra, it says a thousand words. Is spectralight glass tiles? Prices are pretty reasonable. What about that milk green color? will it work? maybe with some garnet pieces sparingly mixed in. I will take some pictures and post two HD Behr's paint card to aid in the discussion of color. Thanks again ALL! Correction: My tiles were Alfagres: Gema4x4: different from what caryscott posted: I loved what caryscott linked:...See MoreSam A
