Are you also using the marble tiles or are they just spacers? I think it's too busy with them! (But I prefer the matchy matchy--not too!--of the redder tiles on the right.)

Thanks. They are not spacers. I've been having a really hard time picking the backsplash. I was planning on using the marble tiles for the backsplash without the accent, but then thought it would look "boring." Do you think I should just do marble tile without the accent?

It's definitely a struggle to try to keep it clean, but have the colors go together, but not have it too busy. I appreciate your suggestions!

Love the cabinets, love the granite, but not sure about the backsplash -- maybe too much competition between everything? However, if you go with one of those, is it your plan to use 4x4s and 2x4s? I think that would be too much/busy/distracting. For some reason I like the 2x4 with the square glass tile, and the 4x4 with the rectangular glass tile.

Hmm. I really like the glass on the right with the granite and cabinets. It's the marble that needs to go. I agree with RMS that if you keep the marble, stick with the one shape, and the shape that goes with the accent. I don't suppose you could get that accent tile in just the light shade and use that as the field tile with the accent running through the middle could you?

I just don't think the marble agrees with the granite I guess, but definitely not in two shapes. You need it to be more neutral.

I agree about the marble backsplash although i think its beautiful. Would you consider a simpler 3x6 or 2x6 subway with tile accents? FWIW i like the crimson tile accents on right side better.

Thanks again for the advice. I was thinking that the marble was matching with the floor tile. I have to rethink this. So w/ the suggestion of making the back splash more neutral, do you mean more grey? Is there something that's grey but also can help lighten up the room? I don't want the back splash to compete with the granite. How about this:

I think the marble, or any other patterned tile will be too much with your counters. I'd stick to a plain subway style to go with the linear shapes of the #2 accent tiles.
If you want gray, try Daltile through HD. It is quite reasonable and would be a simple backdrop for your other materials. It would tie in the gray in the floor tiles and also coordinate with the counters. The white in the marble is whiter than your granite and makes it look dingy/yellow.
