Comments (17)You are lucky indeed to have so much space that you can have six big bulbs in one pot. Pot space is a huge issue here, so all bulbs that tolerate it are raised to their limit. The Jamaican doesn't care. It have good paper layering. Well, it was twelve scapes. I hit a 3? Hmm. Anyway, a full adult bulb is not as large as the biggest amaryllises I have seen in bulb size, but it like a very big onion. So I mean from one bulb. I keep an adult with its myriad little offsets in a pot. And the rest, the money part? This bulb has gotten around. It was brought in in '79 as I remember, and hase been given away many many times. My friend wanted it to run free, not to turn it into a money thing. So I hold to his spirit. If I create something which is free-flowering, good-looking and hardy as a horse I'll spring it on him. See what he thinks. As for the Jamaican, I'm sure others have done who knows what with it....See MoreBlue Glass Bulb Wreath - Previous Posting 2007
Comments (8)Those pictures sure speak a thousand words. What inspiration you ladies give me. The choice of colors and ornaments you used are the perfect combination especially the turqoise--I love it, and those are the colors of the bulbs that I have at present to put to use. I read Ginger's directions on the first post--Thanks and your website shows how much you have mastered this type of detailed work. I had no idea that the messages went that far down the line. I just hope that mine is as lovely as these are. I thank you all for your response and help in getting these pictures back on the post for viewing. Merry Christmas to all. cassie_chewie...See MoreDark cabinet owners, (previous and current) please weigh in.
Comments (157)Now that's the way to spin it right and find that silver lining! BTW, I just saw the Corian thread you started: it's quite obvious I'm working backwards today! :) We're living such parallel experiences: we had white laminate forever -- LOVE that stuff! And it still looked great after all this time (a snap to spot any ants venturing across). Goes a lot to explain why I wanted to keep some large span of white in my kitchen: it's what I knew and loved. Came to a bit of a realization this weekend: I see so many pictures of non-white, dark kitchens that I think are just beautiful. They don't seem too dark in these folks' homes, so I'm not sure why I'm so worried that my kitchen will be too dark...maybe fear of the unknown? Dunno. But as we're approaching the end of the process (BS will be another matter entirely!), it's just time to prioritize over here. Still need to check w/ KD about cost for frosted glass for the two single uppers flanking the kitchen window...these days, I'm afraid to ask. Also need to get some representative pics of the glass to make sure it doesn't look cheesy, ya know? :) Maybe this means I'll need to upgrade to a white interior since the interior walls and forward edge of the shelves will peek through the glass. Cabs come standard w/ that light brown laminate surface, and I don't know how much of the light brown will show through the frost....See MoreAdded pic from previous post so whole couch and ottoman is shone
Comments (48)Please keep the lantern and the tools on the hearth...that looks lovely there. Also love your candle/flowers on the dining table. To me, things that help with "cozy"--Plants. If you don't have room for a floor plant, maybe a hanging plant near the window. A lovely throw, pillows that have texture, flowers on a tray on the ottoman.... Without a doubt the dog is a huge plus :) and he poses so wonderfully! These things work and you're well on the way to making a lovely room even lovelier.....See MoreUser
