Can't live with my living room...Layout help please?
Comments (12)justgottabme: Yes! excellent plan! The Tv needs to be in that corner next to the fireplace -- either mounted on the wall or sitting on a console or cabinet. Having a cabinet in that spot would anchor that whole corner. And more excellent ideas above too! Love the idea of bookshelves in each of the corners -- perhaps just try basic Ikea Billy shelving -- or other build-it-yourself shelves (try stores like Targer or Walmart)-- just to see if that plan will work for you? Or look for vintage shelving or bookcases on your local Craigs List! Swivel chairs can be found -- check your local Craigs List! But for now -- once you move the TV -- try placing one sofa facing the fireplace -- and another one facing the window -- forming the classic L-shape....See MoreThe Most Difficult Room Layout
Comments (3)Is that a rug in front of the sectional? I'd put the coffee table on the rug, and bring the 2 seat sofa into the grouping, and place it so that it's facing the windows behind the sectional. Is each square a foot on your diagram? If not, please post room dimensions. How low are those windows that you don't want to cover? Can you post pictures of the actual room? You might be able to have two comfy chairs in a separate seating arrangement where you have the 2 seat sofa now, with a small table for a lamp between them....See MoreHow to place sofa/TV w/ awkward layout of kitchen-living-dining room!

TV on the short wall opposite the sofa; pay to have the wiring redone and move on......you cannot make the space bigger but you can make work well....PS what and where do the stairs go? Do you have an upstairs? What are the dimensions of the living/dining room and kitchen....See MoreHelp with difficult living room layout
Comments (12)I am slowly made progress with putting the arts on the walls. Question on the very top of the fireplace, there's ledge there to put decors in. Should I leave it bare or put something there? Also, the mantel- paint or stain a different color?...See MoreJudyG Designs
