Is it possible to recess light in a beam?
Comments (4)Need more information. You say the beam will be recessed into the ceiling. Is the ceiling coming down or the beam going up? Is what is shown in the picture a wood beam, a decorative wood box or a wood box surrounding a metal beam. If it's the latter you will be limited by how far above the ceiling the beam ends up....See MoreConverting 5' recessed pot lights to 4' recessed pots
Comments (1)Why are you doing this? Do you know that they make Par 30 in different wattages and beam spreads as well as more energy efficient 45 watt that can replace higher wattage lamps?...See MoreThree romex into recessed light box
Comments (1)There's more to wiring than just matching the colors. My guess is the "not sure where" wire is the power feed from (indirectly or directly) the breaker. By just twisting together all the colors you by feed power to the light even when the switch is off (and if you turn the switch on, I bet the breaker trips...then the light goes off). If that's the case, take the black from the "not sure where" wire, connect it to the white going to the switch. Take the black from the switch and put it to the black for the two lights. Connect the whites from the light and the "not sure where" together....See MoreInstalling track lighting on a wood beam
Comments (2)The company that makes your track may have a 'surface mount' connector that would allow you to forego the need for a junction box, OR, they may have an extension cable that allows for a remote location of a junction box. Your best bet is to contact the track manufacturer or look online for accessories & connectors from that company. Good luck!...See Moredax1210
