New and need help selecting a paint color
Comments (4)Thanks for the responses. I did try to search but not much came up. We are using decatur buff in our master bathroom so I was hoping to do something else in our kitchen. I may have to switch my bathroom choice if I don't find something soon though. Thanks again any help is appreciated....See MoreNeed help in exterior color paint selection
Comments (3)If you want to keep the green trim, you could paint the white part a pale sage green. You already have a complementary color scheme, and so that limits you to red + green, or you could switch to a split complementary scheme, but that would probably get too busy. If you get rid of the green trim, then you have more options. The green part could be painted black or gray instead of white and still have more options....See MoreNeed help with paint color for condo with extremely low light
Comments (18)Yeah I totally agree that we want to get it right the first time. And I can't do painting anymore, it's too hard on my body and I'm no spring chicken either. I have a painter that will do it . I have eliminated gray. This condo is too cave like because of the lack of natural light. I feel it needs yellow to bring the sun inside! Wall sconces will be a must have. I went back to Dunn Edwards today. I've decided to do a monochromatic color scheme using only 2 yellows. I'm still going to use Ivory charm #323 but I also wanted to add a deeper yellow to mix it up a little bit. Honey Nectar DET470 looked like the best deeper shade to Ivory Charm. I slapped some on the wall but with the dark colors the original owner has it's really hard to figure out what it's really going to look like. Tomorrow I will look at the honey nectar in daylight. I put a second coat on when it was dark. It might need to be cut it 25% or maybe more. Yellows can multiple in intensity more so than other colors. I did start a design dilemma and nobody has responded. It's under "please help me choose a yellow paint." I posted this on Saturday. If you go there you can see some of the photographs of the existing wall color. It's hideous so you've been warned....See MoreNeed help with updating exterior + selecting new paint colors!
Comments (13)@Sabrina Alfin - Well, that wasn’t my choice - it was my SO’s decision. We are basically renovating my entire house (he’s moving in with me) - and I basically have free reign to do whatever I want on the inside. So, I let him coordinate the back side. Seemed lime a good trade at the time. i wasnt theilled when I saw the drawings/plans for the covered patio area. I discussed it with him - and since the back of the house already didn’t really represent a ”colonial” style style, I gave in to him. It just wasn’t worth arguing over. I figured that I could change the detailing by roofline + paint cedar in furture if I decided to without spending a lot of $$. This way I get the kitchen of my dreams!...See MoreNatalie
