With your black accents, I'd go for a pale blue. Classic sky blue. Think, crisp, fresh - which IMO would be a lovely contrast with the warm brick. A blue ceiling is actually a good idea considering the color palette of the brick. You have a lot of contrast within the brick/pattern colors itself and a pale blue could actually shore up the extremes of colors going on in the brick; bridge the darker orange to the lighter tones. Result, I'd expect, will look very intentional and cohesive. And with exterior color, intentional and cohesive is a very good thing. Sherwin Williams has some nice pale blues for exterior - might want to start there.

Especially outside, I find colors lose their vibrancy and saturation. Maybe I'll paint my little porch alcove ceiling a blue to give it some dimension.

bossyvossy, half strength means the paint store cuts the formula by half. I wanted to paint my sister's porch ceiling (and shutters out front) a beautiful French Blue. Her HOA said no.... even though house two doors down, the entire back porch, upper and lower roofs, are painted Battleship Grey. No joke. It's horrid. I wonder if only some colors look darker on the ceiling? In our new home, all the ceilings (but the kitchen) are painted the wall colors, and the ceilings look lighter to me.

I'm not a colour expert, let's just get that said at the start lol. Looking at Ben Moore's site, one of the suggested colours to go with perspective is a violet something or other. Clicking through to that, a similar color to it is called Celestia: It's not what I would consider a traditional haint blue, but it seems like it would go well with your cabinets and walls. You could lighten it by 25 or 50% if it seems too dark.
