oval foyer table - how to accessorize
Comments (9)A tall mirror (perhaps an oval one to echo the shape of the table or even round?) on the wall -- OR a series of antique prints in matching dark wood frames? Add a lamp! Always welcoming in a front entrance! IF there is room -- perhaps move the table back into the corner slightly -- consider adding a dark wood antique chair with a gorgeous fabric cushion? Comments (3)I would like to see a grouping or grid of prints OR two medium size artworks ...... I wonder if a tall vertical mirror AND some smaller prints on each side would work??? As wisely stated above -- don't worry about the TV area until you establish this focal point above the sofa ....... Here's a link to designer Phoebe Howard's website -- just click on each of the three big photos to see more of her work .... might be something there to help you ..... Just some thoughts -- hope you don't mind! Jan at Rosemary Cottage Here is a link that might be useful: Phoebe Howard designer site...See MoreAccessorize with meaning
Comments (82)I need help with STUFF that's in my china cabinet. Its so over stuffed that I wonder if I shouldn't display some items elsewhere. Thanks in advance for your ideas. 1 -- For my bridal shower I received a china teacup and saucer from each guest. There are a dozen that don't match, but I love each one. 2 -- Our wedding cake had Cecil Mary Barker Victorian Flower Fairies on it, one representing each member of our blended family (5). Hubby put "him and I" onto a topper that he made, the kids' fairies are loose. The loose fairies could go into our Christmas ornament collection, I suppose. Or maybe there is a way to use them in a bathroom or my daughter's bedroom? http://www.laceylady.com/flower_fairies.shtml 3 -- Three pairs of wine glasses that don't match each other. One pair is the champagne flutes from our wedding; we never drink champagne. The other two are pottery wine glasses....See MoreHow do I accessorize our hallway cabinet?
Comments (22)Your foyer is gorgeous. Not knowing what your style is, first go "shopping" in your home. You would be surprised the collection you can gather. I agree with a larger lamp and small framed art (butterflies/vintage tile). A collection of same type or same color items is always impressive. Add a runner rug in front of the buffet. Here are some inspiration pics: ^ ^ ^ ^ ^ Crystal vases and sculpture/bust ^ ^ ^ ^ Artistic flower arrangement and same type vessels ^ ^ ^ ^ Family or trip black and white photos in beautiful frames with other black and white framed alike photos in between windows and a sculpture and two tall thin lamps between windows ^ ^ ^ ^ Simple vase with branches, and artful composition of framed collection (bugs/jewelry/pressed flowers). The silver leaf frame and the gold gilt accessories sharpen the vignette....See Morekcyarz
