I few more details on the plans that I posted above: The raised beds along the fence would be completely separate from the fence, I'm not talking about heaping dirt against the fence or anything like that lol! Just building raised beds 2' wide and placing them against the fence so I can grow vertically as much as possible. I have a 50' roll of black vinyl coated chain link fencing (part of it is used to enclose the current garden) and I plan to repurpose it by hanging it along the back fence so I can trellis peas, beans, tomatoes, melons, whatever. I have been reading that growing vertically is one way to get more out of a small space. Since I have two medium sized dogs and I have learned the hard way that regular garden fencing or poultry wire isn't really sturdy enough, I was planning to buy some hog panels, have them cut in half, and have those go along the front of the beds to keep everything out. Hog panels are 34" tall and the bars are close together at the bottom and gradually get further apart as they go up. Each half would weigh about 17 pounds, so I can lift a section off as needed to tend the garden, then put it back up when I'm done. The design I came up with has a 4' tall 4'x4' fence post between each bed, about 2' feet out from the existing fence posts. The end pieces of each raised bed will be screwed into it, and once the 1' tall beds are filled with dirt, it should be plenty sturdy enough to support these panels. I also intend to have a piece of 2"x4" going between each of these posts and the actual fence posts to lend greater stability to both, and that will be the only thing that connects the raised beds to the fence. I thought it would be best to keep them totally separate to allow the fence to be worked on or even replaced later if needed, without having to remove the beds. The center beds would need a different setup for keeping out the dogs and rabbits. I had in mind some kind of enclosure that goes around the perimeter, with a gate at the opening. Most likely I would use the same hog panel idea so I could access the beds from the outside or the inside, or I could opt to leave part of it in place and use it for a trellis. I have thought about even enclosing the whole thing with heavy plastic to create a greenhouse for winter, and I could also use it to suspend shade cloth since the sun is a bit too much here in Oklahoma in the summer and it actually gets hot enough that the tomatoes stop setting fruit. The only thing I don't like about this idea is that it is right in the middle of the yard (actually, two of them, one on each side) though the dogs would have a blast running around them. Aesthetically, I think the perimeter beds along the fence would be more attractive and open, even with the smaller island beds added. I would probably put just low covers on those and use those beds for low growing crops since I would have plenty of space to trellis the taller crops along the fence. Depending on where you live, I would explore the artwork on the nightstand. I agree that you really need larger pieces above the bed, but I wouldn’t put larger pieces there is you live in an area with any earthquake risk. other than that, I agree with what others have said. You’d get a more elegant feel with a different wall color (yellow and blue are a cheerful and fun combination, but not one I think of as elegant. The beach at the end of the bed would look better if it were larger. You could add additional texture with something like a Roman shade. And the curtails would look more luxurious if mounted higher (and then use longer curtains).

I noticed that it looks like the chair cushions are flat and worn and dark. I'd redo those seats with some batting and a pretty solid color fabric. It's not hard to do and would make it more welcoming. Check online for how to do it. Usually the seats lift out by unscrewing the four screws from the underside. It's an easy and cheap upgrade. Speaking of chairs, try eliminating the black ones. Then take two of the dining chairs and put them over where the black ones were. Give them a little more space away from the dresser under the window and see how that looks. I would gather all the photos and candles and stuff and put them all in the built-in china cabinet. If you can, try to get various heights going by putting some of them on top of canvas storage boxes (Target. Joanna Gaines collection) or whatever you can find to use as risers. Then find online some battery operated white "fairy lights" to arrange loosely around the photos and shelves to light them up. They are harder to find when it's not Christmas. Read the directions. I have some that go on at the same time each evening and then shut themselves off. They are so nice inside a china cabinet to light up the photos. It sounds hokey but it's not. Try swapping the bookcase over to the left side of the patio doors so you don't have everything busy on the right side. Move and angle that white cabinet in the corner on the right side of the patio doors. Try to find something like a fairly large basket or two to put on top of it. You really will benefit from getting some taller perceived mass in the room. Right now everything is basically the same height and low at that. If you like the way it looks, think about painting the bookcase white or some nice color. A golden color looks good with hardwood floors just so long as it doesn't look like another wood color. I think you need some height and mass on the dresser too. Check out the same Joanna Gaines Collection at Target online. Maybe a lamp? Or a large vase. Something. You could also put a mirror just barely above the dresser to add to the mass. And consider painting it light blue or whatever you like. Find something like a towel or a piece of clothing in blue and drape it temporarily on it to see if the color appeals to you. Try removing or just pushing to the side, the curtain above the dresser. If you can find a real or fake plant, try one or two up there to diffuse the light but open that space up. Another plant somewhere else would be nice too. The table looks sad and lonely. Maybe a tray. Or maybe a runner. Or a stack of pretty placemats in the center. A plant? It will add some interest and color. Do check out the Joanna Gaines collection just to see what you like. You could order online and if you don't like the stuff, you can return at the store rather than shipping things back. My thinking is that by trying some different things, even if it's not exactly right, you'll get a sense of what your eye finds welcoming and calming. By the way, I love the kiddo table and kitchen. It's cute and sweet that your little ones are part of the space. The blue storage piece that laughable moments posted would be so perfect in place of the dresser. Check out craigslist and search on "storage cabinet", "dining console" and words like that. You can probably find something you'll want to paint. But by moving and adding some easy stuff to what you have right now, you'll definitely get an idea of where you want to go with the room. And it's a manageable, not overwhelming way to start the process. I know how overwhelming it can be. Down the road, you'll probably want new and fuller drapes on the patio door. But you'll figure it out after you try some things with the rest of the stuff. Not sure that you need a rug actually. I have floors like yours and I have an oriental but it's pretty busy. I do have a seagrass looking rug with neutral to golden colors and it's very calming and pretty with the floors, so maybe check out some rugs like that and see if they appeal to you.

2 feet in the middle of the closet is a tight squeeze. A reach in with double rod hanging can be more efficient and hold more. 13x13 is a nice size for a master bedroom. The bedroom in my former home was that size and I found it to be very comfortable. I would suggest that you separate the windows on the wall opposite the door to make a natural place for the bed to sit. Otherwise, you'll end up putting the bed in front of the windows, which isn't ideal. In the 2nd bedroom, I would suggest putting the closet to the right of the door on the south wall. Then add a second window on the north wall, separate from each other for the bed. Feng shui says you get the best sleep if your head is opposite the door and your bed is against a solid wall.
