Reel Mower Recommendation
Comments (3)Thanks for your suggestion, but I did not find one with current recommendations and there is a new product every day. Meanwhile, I still have a garden - 30 x 10 and 1 1/2 acre to mow. I absolutely love gardening and want to be able to continue for a long time! I do not let those disabilities hold me back but as you can tell, I try to take care of myself by eating fresh foods and being active!...See MoreReel Mower or Electric Mower
Comments (1)Reel mowers will give an excellent cut if you have no tall weeds or grass. They are best when the yard is mowed on a regular basis so as to keep it in good shape. I would say you need a rotary (spinning flat blade)type mower. Either gas or electric. They will produce a good looking cut, you can adjust the height easier, sharpen the blade easier, and mow down anything within reason....See MoreReel Mower for Basketball
Comments (0)Hello, Any help would be appreciated. I'm looking for a recommendation for a reel mower. I have about 1000 sq ft of Bermuda. I'd like to trim it nice and tight and have it as hard as possible. The idea is to sometimes be able to play some informal 1-on-1 basketball on the surface. The other issue is the weight of the mower. The 20" reel mowers seem to be over 125 pounds. Is there anything that could do the job but at 75 pounds or less? I'd like to have my son do the job and there are stairs involved. Thanks, CK...See MoreSt. Augustine and push reel mowers
Comments (4)I've been cutting my St Aug at 2.75" with a Silent Cut 18 6 reel mower since the beginning of July. I ordered it with 10" tires so that it's max cutting height is 2.75". It does a good job. The grass definitely likes the scissor cut action a lot more than my old rotary mower. I tried a Sear's 5 reel mower last Spring, but it didn't work very well so I returned it. The Silent Cut costs more, but you get what you pay for. Here is a link that might be useful: Link...See Moregardengal48 (PNW Z8/9)
