Drain Pan That Includes Gutter and Drain Pipe?

I want to put a small planter on top of a tall stone column, shown in the photo. I need a small drain pan under the pot that includes some kind of drainage pipe down to the ground. Does anyone sell that as a pre-designed product?

A picture of the place where you want the plant would be helpful for sure. There are plastic drian pans that could have a plastic tube attached at the drain and hidden behind the post but without pictures of the whole thing who knows.

If there's a hollow core in the column your best bet would be to pop the cap off, run 1/2" pvc to the bottom and elbow it out through the side in an inconspicuous spot. Drill out the cap and set it back on, trim the pipe, and set your planter. Only your hairdresser needs to know...

Otherwise, I've never seen what you're describing. I'd get a pan with the highest side walls you can get away with, drill it out for a bulkhead fitting, run 1/2 pvc and paint it to blend with the column using Krylon or something similar.

sarahw_tx....actually it the other way around, the one sweating is for the downstairs and the other is upstairs. I did get up in the attic this morning and noticed the sweating is pretty non-existent (just a little moisture). I am beginning to think that the humidity and heat of the day caused a lot of it, but overnight it cooled down in the attic therefore changing the "chemistry" up there. We shall see today. I think I will add some insulation today and see how it goes. If anyone has any other thoughts please keep 'em coming. Thanks.

By "French drain" I'm assuming you mean perimeter drain or foundation drain. So...assuming I'm right in my assumption, that is what we do up here in one of the wettest climates around. Just be sure your top pipes (the rain leaders) are deep enough to allow someone to cultivate the beds. It passes code, just make sure you have the right pipe if you are going under a driveway. Oh, and by "gravel" I hope you mean drain rock. And by "French" pipe, I hope you aren't referring to that black corrugated stuff. We use the same white (PVC, I think) pipe top and bottom, 4" for the foundation, 3" for the rain leaders. Glue it all, slope it all and for goodness sakes wrap it all...I still see folks laying newspaper down

I am confused somewhat by your terminology and then your description. Gutters are the horizontal troughs that run along the roof edge. The down drains take what is collected from the gutters to ground level and then underground lines to the storm drain collector pipe and away from the house underground. I believe you are describing the down drains and they have in-line diverters for rain barrel collection. But u would have to cut the down drain and install the diverter. How about harnessing your grey-water instead of rain water. It is hard without your landlord's permission. GL Aloha

I guess I’d like to implement the best solution for any possibly scenario. I would have to speak to the plumber and/or the contractor to understand exactly what goes under the tile or can go under it to make it waterproof.. as of this moment I don’t know what the plan was. In my mind it would be like the shower, how they put down that black vinyl waterproof barrier, but maybe that’s not what they do...? I have bare plywood right now so I can do whatever is best- just have to understand what that is, so I’m looking for some input from anyone with experience. I’ll have a shut off valve for the water supply, so that should take care of any major water supply issues (if I remember to turn it off), so mainly a backup plan if the washer overflows, leaks, or malfunctions in some way when draining (plumbing backup?)

I believe THIS will work. You would need to attach your own pvc pipe.
