Playing catch-up on a lazy Saturday, PART 1
Comments (13)Beautiful flowers all of them. Zeuss sure looks comfy. I've been really behind in my posting on the forum shame on me. It's been a hard weekend for me as I had to put Little Boy to sleep today he had a medical condition called mega colon and after fighting it for eight months the medication stopped working and the only medical options was surgery to remove his colon which would have left him with very little control of his bowels, I just couldn't put him through all of the pain and possible complications. His passing leaves a big empty hole in my heart. He was such a sweet loving little guy who came into my life as a stray I like to think that it was God's way of taking care of such a sweet little soul because he would have died a very slow painful death without treatment, instead he finished out his life being well loved and taken care. So sorry to ramble on so much. Linda...See MoreBehind again--Friday blooms on Saturday
Comments (9)Kay and Avedon--Love on a Wire has been fabulous this year. It has increased well, looks good every day and has a high bud count. Parade of Peacocks is fairly new and is in the jungle section of my yard so I can't even get in there to count buds, but I really love the way it looks. It just started blooming a few days ago. mantis--Love on a Wire has been blooming since July 10. That may be closer to mid than early mid, but there is so much overlap it's hard to tell. It has lots of buds left. Val...See MoreCatching Up on Saturday
Comments (6)Nothing like rain to produce lush blossoms (provided it stops at some point). Last one has a remarkable eye. Entire group is a bright assortment of colors. You've had no hardiness issues with Diamond Dusted Borders? That's interesting, but not typical for a Carpenter evergreen. The Olson one is certainly toothy; the side blooms though look a little funky in their opening. (The name is one of the most ridiculous I have come across--how does it in any way describe the nature of the blossom, unless perhaps the scapes tend to bloom low? At the other extreme, we have names such as Pussy Galore.) I picked up Vinkman on your recommendation and hope that I will like it as much as you do. Concerning your comment below, I don't like that one can't edit a post once it has been commented on....See MoreCatching up from Thursday and Friday
Comments (16)Wow, you have a lot still opening. I got rid of all the "chicken fat" ones here. It will be interesting to see how it is in later blooms. Barney looks very good. Does it always canoe or is it just the weather? Lunar Empire has the pop of yellow. Nice group....See Moredaylilybedmaker
