Gap between slide in range and wall
Comments (9)I have the somewhat maligned E'lux slide in with quartz, however I did plan for the weirdly specific install (1" filler between range opening and door/drawer clearance). I don't think it makes much difference going with granite or quartz... it's just a matter of what colour/style you prefer. Remember if you are not changing your cabinets, you might have a gap to fill between the side cabinets and the side of the range. This picture of my before kitchen illustrates this to an extreme! I too had a "bridge" filler piece made for behind my range. I've attached a close up picture to show the seam between it and my perimeter counter (it's there, I swear!). I do like my stove, BTW... reviewed it in appliances forum....See MoreHELP!!! Huge 3" gap behind Samsung freestanding range
Comments (13)Thank you all for replying! Here is a little update: Yes we paid for relocating the plumbing, electric, and gas line. I checked the manual, and it said 0 inch clearance on the rear side. The range has a recessed area on the back for the gas valve and electric plug to fit in. Thanks to you all, I showed the manual to him and insisted that he move the gas line to the proper place, and he agreed. What happened was he put the gas line right behind one leg of the range and of course it blocks the range from going in further! Even moving it toward the center of the range by an inch would yield enough space to clear the range leg. Anyhoo, thanks to all your help, he's going to fix it!...See More2-3" gap behind freestanding range

I feel like what we have is a gas riser and not a gas line since I've heard other people who have done work and have to shut off gas to the entire apartment line to do this....See MoreHow to remove granite strip behind slide-in range?
Comments (20)I am a fabricator. if the seam is silicone caulk (it'll be soft) you can just cut thru the adhesive with a "Stanley" knife or equivalent. You may also need to cut the joint between the horizontal piece and the splash. If it's epoxy the easiest way is to saw it out but you'll need a diamond blade and someone handy with a circular saw. You'll also want to trickle water on the saw blade while it's cutting to keep the dust down and have a vacuum hose at the cutting point to suck the dust. Do not try to bust it out; you could easily break the stone on the wrong side of the epoxied joint. Easiest for you is to get a fabricator....See Morecherylbirth
