I don't think so. DW uses much hotter water than washer. Even when I used my WD combo( the ventless one), there was no moisture to be felt around. The unit felt warm (enough to dry towel over it) on drying cycle but my dishwasher puts out more heat- it is old piece of wonder, fixed manytimes. Besides look at the build in ovens, even thou they vent up front, I'm sure there must be some heat in between cabinets. I wouldn't worry as long there is no water drip when draining. In europe we use appliances build in the kitchen for years.

I know that keeping the lid open on any kind of washer is the safest route, but it's helpful to know that there really is a significant difference between top loaders and front loaders. The reason for this is that front loaders have doors that are sealed with rubber gaskets so they are truly airtight, whereas top loaders have lids that have big gaps between the top of the wash tub, and the underside of the lid, so there's lots of free space for the inside of the wash tub to vent to the outside. The upshot of this that top loaders are already designed with enough opening space between the lid and the rest of the wash tub so that when the lid of a top loader is closed it's pretty much equivalent to a front loader with its door open. Now, keeping the lid on a top loader open to prevent rusting is something to consider, but I think that washers sold today should have enough paint and rust preventative stuff on them to preclude the need for keeping the lid open. At least I would hope they do ...

We converted our 2 family into a single and used the tenants 1st floor kitchen (12.5'W x 14'L) as our kitchen. The last updates were 1950's or '60's. We gutted the kitchen and moved the ceiling height to the room above it (raised about 1'). Found an old floor just above the lowered ceiling made up of ~170 year old wide pine that wasn't used for at least 100 years and we will now incorporate it into the banquette. We bumped out the back of the house 6' for the kitchen (now 20'L). Since some of our bathroom plumbing was from the 1850 - 1870s and the newest being 90 years old we replumbed the whole house. Also most of the wiring was when they invented it so we had the whole house rewired and upgraded to 400A service. We added the "sandwich" in a new nook opposite the basement door (60"W x 22"D cabs). We recessed the frig into the back stairway - much more than the drawing shows. In the bump out we added 5 windows, french door and skylight to the kitchen, 1 small window in the half bath and a transom between the half bath and pantry. Here's a basic idea of the kitchen but we swapped the range and sink plus DW after suggestions from GW and moved the prep sink. The shaded area is the bump out.

I really feel like there is not the space for a peninsula with overhang and still able to keep DR space not too crowded. btw, LiGHTING: I do not like my pendants at all. Another poor choice! The backstory is that this remodel I started fresh from marital break up and right when I moved into my new all-mine house. So, while I've been energetic, I violated the live in your space for a while and think through/prioritize changes. It's ok. I needed the project at the time, badly wanted to 'nest,' have it all done . . . probably still do. That said, now I am ready to be done! I really appreciate the help you all are offering.
