Thank you EVERYONE! I had a great birthday. Lots of fun with the colored hair at work. Yes, gazania Moni, yes, love the purple hair...but is that in reference to the book "When I am Old, I Shall Wear Purple"? C'mon now, you will never convince anyone that you are "old". Hope your birthday was top notch! It sort of was. I was looking for something purple to wear at my party on Saturday, when I ran across the lady with the purple hair. I just thought it would be a HOOT, and it was so far. Lori and Doug and the kids won't be here now till tomorrow, and I can't wait to see their reaction. LOL My other daughter, Ulrike came yesterday to pick me up for Supper out. She said, nice wig mom... LOL, and I replied, are you sure it is a wig... Later on the way home from Supper, while at a stop sign, she looked right.... and there I was.... LOL, she said, oh, it's still purple. Moni

Hi OklaMoni - You can actually change how your name displays on your posts, separately from your username you use to log in. To do so, just click where you see Your Houzz in the upper right corner of the page, then Edit Profile and enter the name you would like to display with your posts (OklaMoni) where you see First Name on the Edit Profile screen. That will update the name displayed with all your past and future posts. Hope that helps!

party_....of course they have helmets and shoes, they don't want to hurt anything! Hopefully, we can assume those bikes are owned by the riders, and no one else would be sitting on that seat.

I use Lars (from the cooking forum) basic recipe, but I did alter it. Chocolate Ice Cream 3/4 cup sugar 1 cup half and half 1/4 teaspoon salt 2 HEAPING tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder sifted 3 egg yolks, lightly beaten 2 ounces (or more) semisweet chocolate, chopped (Mocha chocolate is really good for this, or Aldi's dark chocolate, any good chocolate will do) 2 cups heavy cream some Baileys, I am not to precise about the amount 1/2 cup toasted hazelnuts, chopped (optional) or Pecans! :) 1. Combine sugar, half and half, salt, and cocoa powder in a saucepan over medium heat, stirring constantly. Bring to a simmer. Place the egg yolks into a small bowl. Gradually stir in about 1/2 cup of the hot liquid and return to the saucepan. Heat until thickened, but do not boil. Remove from the heat, and stir in the chopped chocolate until chocolate is melted. Pour into a chilled bowl, and refrigerate for about two hours until cold, stirring occasionally. 2. When chocolate mixture has completely cooled, stir in the cream, and Baileys (or your favorite liqueur). Pour into an ice cream maker, and freeze according to manufacturer's directions. I normally add the nuts about ten minutes before the end.
