Comments (20)Have to agree that wall mounting the tv is probably your best bet. Do you have plaster walls? I can't tell how old the house is from your pictures. Fishing cables through plaster walls can be difficult. However, there are cord covers that you can use to cover the cables on the wall. They can be painted to match the wall color. And if you Google a bit, there are a lot of creative ideas on how to hide all the tv cables out there. I'd do a bit of research first, to get the wall mount that will work best for you, and to figure out the easiest way to hide all the cables. If you don't want a rug, and I don't blame you, those floors are sure pretty, think about doing something else to help "furnish" the room. I could see a large plant on the wall with the tv, or a bookcase for display. I think if you can find something else for that wall, in addition to the tv, it will make the room seem more fully furnished....See MoreNeed help living room layout and decorating
Comments (8)Nothing goes on those high shelves unless you have museum quality sculptures, Do I spy a door in the right niche? If so, can it be moved? The art on the mantel is the wrong orientation. Try turning it longways and remove all the other stuff on the mantel for now. If you want to know about furniture arrangement and what other furniture to buy, then you need to give us photos from all four directions....See MoreLiving room layout and decor ideas
Comments (14)I'd make two seating areas. Pull sofa up closer to tv with ottoman in front of it. Then put the chair and bookshelf where sofa was for a reading area. The back of the brown sofa would be perpendicular to the back side of the kitchen wall. This would create a walkway to the dining area. Might work....See MoreLiving Room Layout /Decor Help!
Comments (2)Facing sofas will not work. But back to back sofas will. Windows abutting t v only need one panel, stacked back to the left and the other to the right. See pix #2. When you design your fireplace, build the box and bring it out in to the room. See my pix #2. Next you need to center the rug in the room. Remove the cheap looking ceiling light and replace with two, because my thoughts are you need two different seating areas and each area gets it own (matching) chandelier. So, two sofas, four chairs, four ottomans and two coffee tables....See MoreMy House
