Art above bed help

I need help knowing what to hang above my bed. The room is still in progress. The night stands are being replaced by much larger nightstands. The red leather chair with rolled arms might be leaving as well. The ceilings are 12' high. The piece I'm interested in is 44" high. The space between the top of the bed and window is 57'. Too big? I also read some posts with upholstered beds that said hang nothing but the space was not as big. Suggestions and opinions?

I had to distort the painting a bit for the mockup. If you use painters tape and mark off the area that the painting would cover and take another photo, it would be easier to see if the size works.

SHWSHW what you've replicated above is a reasonable representation. Is it too big, should I Attempt to find something smaller and still horizontal or otherwise?

Perhaps something like this? (link below ...) OR perhaps simply create a grid (maybe six or eight or even ten depending on size) of your own photographs. Consider taking a walk around a local historical district of your town OR perhaps a local garden or nice area -- photograph a collection -- trees? cool doors or architechural elements? THEN -- take the photographs and have them printed in sepia (brownish) tones. Mat them alike in creamy white and frame in dark chocolate brown. Hang in a tight grid above the bed .... While I was looking at Ook's site, I saw I bought the the "bendless nails" kind that states "will not bend on hard wall surfaces. Ideal for brick and concrete walls. 1", brass plated nail". I'm guessing I'll be ok since I have drywall and this picture isn't heavy.

I could see a more natural feel for this room being complimentary and ideas over headboard are below as well as for accessorizing Think about how you want the whole room to feel before adding more In sitting area, try high boy on other wall with mirror above and if you added a bookcase on the far wall and chair under window it will be a cozy little reading nook. A Kilim rug would be lovely there to ground the space. Another idea, if you have another spot for chair, you could make that area more functional with a vanity.

There are panoramic canvases available.

Not that these images work with your interiors, but consider a panoramic canvas.

I am not a designer, so take my opinion with a grain of salt. I think it will be great so long as it is not wider than your headboard. Go big or go home, lol.

It doesn't seem like you need anything in the space above the bed. However if you want to hang something we recommend something long and small.
