Ideas for our kitchen remodel (and living/dinnig room)
Comments (10)Thanks for the idea. It is an interesting take. I didn't think of moving it completely to that side of the room. It is indeed a lot more work, but maybe water pipes & drain & gas wouldn't be a big issue (they go under the house). However there is no (simple) way for getting a vent pipe out and I reeeaaaly want a strong hood with external ventilation and not one with filters. I cannot go through the wall because behind it it's the neighbors garage, I cannot go up because of the top floor and cannot really go outside where the porch is because of the newly installed glass roof of the terrace. Yeah, I have a separate pantry, the "washroom" is actually mostly a pantry. That's also where I store rarely used pots and the like, so that's why I can live without top cabinets. There is also an advantage of having the kitchen where it was meant to be, it is closer to the pantry. But I cannot seem to find a good design that fits there and fulfills the need of a breakfast eating place (like an island) The scale is not really off I think, I really have a 2.5m (8.2 feet) long dining table. And I was thinking of an island of 4x60 cm = 240 cm = 7.9 feet so 4 people can sit comfortably. But it is true, such a big island might not fit. And you gave me an idea with one seat on the side. Maybe it could even be 2 and 2.......See MoreOur very first home! Ideas please

Comments (0)Hello! Looking for some nice looking toy storage ideas for our living room (that doesn't scream toy storage). Preferably, I'd like it to fit with our design aesthetic, and not just be those shelves with bins. We like MCM, traditional/modern, a mix of those. Warm woods. We have cathedral ceilings, which makes it harder to design....See MoreAccent color ideas for our new living room furniture please
Comments (7)First of all, the wall color really isn't working. Maybe this is a trick of the light in the photo, but the walls look beige and the carpet gray. If you're up for repainting, try a color that is darker than what is there to create more contrast with the leather sofas, maybe a blue-green so that it would complement the rug and blue chair. Or lay an area rug down over the carpet to minimize its effect. I realize people get attached to their recliners, but that is too much leather furniture in one room for my taste. Do you have another room where you could use a piece so you could put an upholstered piece in the room? It looks like you need a different style of coffee table. Make sure you have your seating arrangement how you want it before thinking about a new coffee table. The art you have in the room currently is hung too high. Bring it down about six inches. Each piece is fine by itself, but they don't go together. Keep the one you prefer and find another to coordinate with it. It's also OK to hang a pair or three in an arrangement over a sofa. The half moon window is unusual. I hope someone comes along with some ideas for that wall....See MoreBeverlyFLADeziner
