Blackout or Light Filtering Roller Shades?
Comments (4)That is really just a personal preference. I like light in the morning so I usually have no shades down in the bedroom, but I did install some blackout shades because my husband has to sleep during the day sometimes. I thought that gave us both options...See MoreHome Depot Veneta Roller Shades - anyone have experience?

Comments (6)blinds.com give you the blackout / privacy liner option. They are the best site to work with. great customer service. if you need to see samples, go to Home Depot and look at their books. same products. I had their Bali Woven Wood in a black/brown and you could never see through it at night. but like I said, it comes with a liner option. this one had a light liner on the back. i think it was also Bali (and make sure you get the optional 1" edge binding.) They have a light filtering backing and a blackout liner. https://www.blinds.com/c/woven-wood-shades/55 https://www.blinds.com/p/levolor-natural-woven-shade/505221 another option is the double cellular blinds. this one is in black w/the standard liner on the back. keeps the room pretty dark. Comments (11)I have the same problem - house surrounded by trees with little natural light. I agree with using white on the walls. I would go to the paint store and pickup a brochure on using white paint colors, and also look for a paint chip display with varying shades of white. Whites come in every color of the rainbow and they can be mixed. I have beige on my walls now and I can’t wait to paint over it. It really makes the rooms dark. I have found that bright colors in accessories can also lighten up a dark room. I bought a rug with aqua accents and somehow it lightened up the room. Warm colors might do that as well, like pale yellows and peaches and blush tones. Google ”rooms with white walls” to see how people are decorating white rooms. Some of them are really sophisticated. It’s an opportunity to showcase wall art that you love....See Moreapple_pie_order
