Your house is charming! I actually like the white for the door. You mentioned a color pop. What about red (not dark!) or yellow with pots filled with the same color blooms? Trim those bushes so they're no higher than the bottom of the windows.

They got a good trimming done....I had to wait on a day with no rain!

My house is also dark blue (Alside Riviera Dusk) and we picked a bright pink that leans coral. But if your husband prefers calmer colors he might not be too thrilled about pink. :)

I think that there is a pretty green color that would work well tooo, by the way. Starcity, your house is crazy cute. I think a more colorful landscaping design and a nice walkway would give it that extra “something” I think you’re looking for.

I’ve neglected the landscaping around front and concentrated on the back. But you’re right, I need to pull more color around front! In the spring, the bushes have beautiful purple flowers and tons of daffodils. I need to continue flowers through the season. We’ve only been here about three years and the back was just empty flower beds

Love the new siding! Super cute house. I think a pretty bright blue would give it a nautical feel (SW Blue Plate) or a greener blue would give it a country feel (check out SW Calypso).

Curious if the trellis piece is removable. I think it might give you more light and make your entry really pop.

OP, I completely understand. We’ve been in our house for 13 years and it seems that something always needs to be updated. Almost done though! I’ll have to tackle my front garden too once the renovation is done.

What a great house! So charming and interesting. I LOVE the idea of a coral door - maybe a little less pink than the one above would satisfy the hubby? Or maybe an aqua blue? The front is really asking to be a cottage garden and have a bit of a curve to the walkway, IMHO....that would pull all the elements together.

Y’all have inspired me to research landscaping for the front....we definitely have the space to be creative!

The siding color of this 110 year old Calgary house is a charcoal gray. The trim is a cream color. The front door was painted a turquoise blue. Sorry I didn't keep the color on file. I believe it was matched to a Farrow & Ball color.

So here is what we have currently compromised on....SW Cherries Jubilee. It’s non traditional enough for me with the pink in it and hopefully red enough for him! This could be sanded, primed, and repainted by next week though

Just tell your husband that until the 1920s, pink was considered to be a masculine color and light blue was feminine.

My husband (who works in visual arts) likes to remind me that pink is not red; pink is light burgundy. So just tell your husband the door is a classy light burgundy. :)

@Vivian Parker The color is Behr’s ”Candy Drop”. I hope you’ll post a pic of your house when you’re done, no matter what color you pick for the door, navy stucco sounds delightful!
