quality cabinet versus diamond cabinet
Comments (2)I think the Diamond cabinets are a good value for the money. In 2007, they were dinged by Consumer Reports because they skimped on their cabinet boxes. It appears that they have rectified this problem, so they are a lot more sturdy than they used to be. If you can find the finish and door style that you are looking for, then they might be a good option for you. I think that they have a lot of "gadets" too. They make a 3-inch spice pull-out rack that you can't find with all of the manufacturers. Right now, HD has a deal where you can get 50% off the painted finishes, a free sink base, and cash back depending on how much you spend. I would stay away from the Chinese cabinets. They often advertise ridiculous low price specials to pull you in, but the quality, fit, and finish is not worth it in my opinion. You are better off going with stock American-made cabinets or IKEA cabinets if you want to lower your cabinet costs....See MoreDiamond Cabinets
Comments (18)After making the difficult and expensive decision to remodel our master bath, my wife and I were directed to ProSource Cincinnati for cabinets, granite and tile. The following details the numerous issues we experienced in our dealings with Diamond Cabinets. After explaining that we would like a higher-end cabinet, my wife and I were directed to the Diamond line of cabinets and selected a Cherry cabinet with an expresso finish. We purchased an 8-foot vanity and a floor-to-ceiling custom-designed pantry style cabinet. The cabinets arrived damaged, which isn’t necessarily a Diamond issue aside from the fact that the delivery agent consisted of one person to handle several large cabinets. A base cabinet was damaged on the bottom right corner – looks like handling damage as opposed to something that left the factory damaged. Upon installation we noticed that one of the pantry doors had a nick at the top of the door and several wood defects (a groove in the wood) at eye level. The top two doors of the pantry cabinet were a different sheen or different grain than the cabinet they sit on. Immediately obvious to anyone who looked at the doors. The front frame of the pantry cabinet isn’t square as the bottom left corner shows the raw wood of the side panel. Virtually every drawer (except two) of the vanity has a flaw, each of the four under-sink doors has a flaw. The Diamond Sales Representative for this area came to my home to review the cabinets and agreed to replace doors and drawers and then have a furniture refinisher come to correct any remaining minor defects. At this point, no one seems to be able to locate our replacement parts and we are left hanging. Of course, ProSource has been paid as well as Diamond. Folks, do yourself a favor and stay away from this manufacturer. Nothing here but poor craftsmanship and no one willing to own an issue to resolve the problem. A letter to Diamond senior management went unanswered....See MoreDiamond Cabinets
Comments (4)Interested in hearing how this pans out. I agree that it is lame of the rep to determine the "cause" without ever looking at the damage. Warranties by these companies are useless if they don't stand behind them. Do you have pictures of the damage? Is it confined to the same areas on all the doors? Are your cabinets stained or painted? When the finish peeled and chipped on my Kraftmaid bath cabinet (painted finish), the person on the phone said it sounded like moisture damage because the cabinet was located in a bathroom. I said, "So what if it's in a bathroom? You sell bath cabinets so you know they are going to be in there." The sent me all new doors and drawer fronts without any hassle. Let's hope Diamond does the same for you. Please let us know what happens....See MoreDiamond cabinetry
Comments (5)Thanks Both. The series at Lowes have different names. These don't show up on Diamonds regular website -https://www.diamondcabinets.com/ I went to a Dixiline store in San Diego where the sales person told me about Diamond's distinction line. Not sure how do they compare with Intrigue or Prelude etc....See MoreCorinne
