Can't live with my living room...Layout help please?
Comments (12)justgottabme: Yes! excellent plan! The Tv needs to be in that corner next to the fireplace -- either mounted on the wall or sitting on a console or cabinet. Having a cabinet in that spot would anchor that whole corner. And more excellent ideas above too! Love the idea of bookshelves in each of the corners -- perhaps just try basic Ikea Billy shelving -- or other build-it-yourself shelves (try stores like Targer or Walmart)-- just to see if that plan will work for you? Comments (1)Please: room dimensions Where does that door go pictures without black scribbles my immediate thought, stop trying to put the sofa on a wall. Comments (5)The tv should move to the opposite end wall…having the tv cabinet (or a fireplace) on that wall is too close to the entry way. And the living room seating will be open to the kitchen....See MoreAwkward living room layout HELP
Comments (6)I think I would shuffle it back just a bit so it's not blocking the door (even though you don't use it). It'll still leave room to open and close the drapes. I don't think you'd need anything behind, but if you want something, perhaps you could put a long skinny console table (or two butted together to make a long one). If you had a skinny table behind your couch, you could add lamps and some plants....See Moredecoenthusiaste
