Are you quilting this weekend? May 31-June 2

Hello Quilters! I hope none of you were in the path of any of the storms and tornadoes this week. Ohio had 19 tornadoes touch down on Monday night. Every time I listen to the news they are increasing the number. We were fortunate and were not in danger but we did go to the basement. My DS and family live near Dayton but said they didn't get any rain. The storms were just north of them.

Now back to quilting! I went to guild on Tuesday and won the FQ lotto. They had enough entering to have two winners. This month was black and gray FQs. I won a stack of green FQs in March. I have already cut some of them up to use in the guild's mystery quilt.

My plans for the weekend are to get a small sewing project ready for my 5 yo granddaughter to sew next week. We will make a skirt for her American Girl doll. Of course I will have to make one for her little sister's doll too. I also want to work on the next clue in the mystery quilt. What are your plans this weekend?

I’m not planning to sew. I am in two musical groups and need to do a lot of “wood shedding” this weekend! I also got a new laptop so I need to work on moving things off the old laptop and PC.

I got those inside jobs done last weekend and now I am on the outside. Planting, planting, planting. Almost finished. I might take a break tomorrow and do more string blocks. Still waiting for inspiration to hit for next project. Beautiful day today with rain forecast for tonight. Glad I got the plants in.

Glad you made it home safely, Sandra... adventures like that make good stories to chuckle about in the distant future... I've been working on my puff quilt all week (thanks Calliope for inspiring me to continue last weekend!)... I even brought my machine to my overnight job and sewed in the break room! I will work on it more on Sunday unless I'm out looking at cars... my transmission is about to die (after just getting the a/c fixed 2 days ago... argh!) and I'm trying to decide whether to look at another car or fix this one... so I need to start shopping around. I told my Bernina that I might have to sell her if I have to buy a new transmission... she's sucked in her gut and is standing at attention, trying not to breathe too loudly or be noticed at all... and she certainly isn't skipping stitches or giving any error messages, she's too nervous to misbehave... I looked at her earlier and she was sitting in a puddle of freshly excreted sewing machine oil, feed dogs chattering away with anxiety... Poor girl... OK, seriously, though, I did sew today... I made one of those fabric tubes to put plastic shopping bags in as I was sick of them always being all over the place.. it was fun to sew something I could actually use! Linda glad your sewing room is coming together well, can't wait to see your pics of it! Lois congrats on retiring! Well earlier this week I finished the Butterfly Baby Quilt, so I have been elated about that. Next week S-I-L is going to make an embroidery label for it and then later this month my Mom is going to visit me and she will take the baby quilt home with her and deliver it to my cousins and their new baby. Thursday night at 6pm my son comes to me and says he wanted to be a fox for Halloween. So Friday my hubby and I put together his costume which I had to make from scratch, but it turned out great. Then he spent last night at his friend's house trick or treating in their neighborhood and his parents threw a Halloween party, then his friend came home with my son and they had a sleepover here ..... they are elementary school age kids ...... so my son had a wonderful Halloween. This week after I finished the baby quilt, I started crocheting ribbon bookmarks that will go in Christmas cards that my son will give his teachers and staff at school for Christmas presents, the teachers always love them. Just had a disappointing call from the sewing machine techie. It seems that the tension on the pfaff is really "screwed up" and he is having difficulty finding a service manual. So " be patient". I did recently think about upgrading but there is a fair bit of money invested in this. Only two years old. I do have two other machines I can piece on but neither one is the best for quilting. Theresa, that's so sweet! Thanks for sharing. Good job, Glass! Glad you got done in time. We spent the weekend working on the baseboards. We also pulled up a large section of the flooring in the master bedroom to fix a gap issue. The master bedroom is DONE! The guest room is done except for the little bracket that holds the bifold doors closed. The sewing room bifold doors are painted and ready to install. We still have two more bifold doors to paint and baseboard to install in the living room, dining room and kitchen, and some trim to install along doorways. Our goal is to be done by the end of June. We finally have some sunshine so I am trying to get some work done outside. The guy rebuilding our deck - Builder Bob - ran into a problem yesterday and we have to replace all of the support posts which we hadn't counted on, so we are at a standstill until they can get them in! Who knew that 6" x 6" x 8' structural beams are a special order? So today I took out all the pavers around the old beams and dug down to the concrete so he can pull the old ones and put in new ones. I still need to go finish pulling the rest of our old raspberries so we can rototil that area and build some new planter boxes. I wish there were about 48 hours in every day so I could get caught up!!

I am hoping to get to the sewing machine this evening and finish putting together the blocks for a string quilt from scraps in my stash.

I've tried 4 times to post the June Quilting/Sewing Goals, but so far nothing. But, I did sew yesterday. Not sure what I'll do today.
