Comments (28)Kate, I love your mini! Those are some of my favorite colors. I agree, it is already so pretty even without any embellishments. Not much quilting for me. I was off from work all last week, but had such a long list of things I wanted to get done, I didn't even get half of it done! I was able to get a lot of the outside work done since the weather was so nice. We are doing a raised vegetable garden for the first time this year. We got the frame all built and I have most of the seeds are ready sprouting. Now to find some good dirt! I worked a little on getting the finished rows or my Dear Jane put together. I got 2 rows done with sashing and corner blocks. I have the sashing cut to assemble the third row and it will be ready to be added to the other 2 rows. I still haven't worked on this month's blocks, so I hope I can get it done in the evenings. My weekends are booked for the next 3 weeks, so not much will get done then. Comments (16)Oh my.....sounds like everyone is having house-fulls. It's just the opposite here. My husband's brother is in ICU and it's extremely serious so he is there and the animals and I are holding down the house and waiting for word when he finds out. I just got down from the sewing room. It's the shank of the day, and hot and I shall wait for it to cool a bit before I go back outside to work. So I am making more HSTs for the depression block and trying to get two blocks sewn together, my unofficial goal for a day's sewing. My granddaughter and my grandson's girlfriend are both having high school graduation parties this weekend, on the same day. I'll be busy sunday and need to do a little cooking before then to take 'stuff'. Speaking of totally scrappies........my current project is. My poor husband........LOL.........he is looking at it and it's got enough contrast the you can tell it's tessellated, keeps asking me if there shall be sashing between the blocks. I know where he was headed with it and he finally came right out and said "It's busy!" Uh huh...........extremely so and I won't know if I love it or hate it until it's done....but it's a true depression quilt genuine to the pattern with scraps from everywhere! Linda.........keeping you in my thoughts with your daughter's pregnancy. The waiting is hard....See MoreAre you quilting this weekend? May 29-31
Comments (10)Lois, What pattern will you be using on this quilt that you'll be learning new techniques? I have no doubt you'll do an awesome job of it, no matter what it is. My sister-in-law has always been a hard worker and had vericose veins for years. Her legs had been hurting lately but she just contributed it to getting older (67). Unfortunately, it was blood clots, they ended up in her lungs and it was serious. She lives by herself and had passed out. Long story short, the doctor had never seen anyone recover from how bad she was and usually people die from less. She is still in the hospital, though in a regular room now and able to be up and walked a little bit yesterday. She is off the heart monitor and oxygen and will probably go to rehab in a few days before going to her daughter's (who had rotator cuff surgery a few weeks ago). We've all been wanting her to sell the big old farmhouse with 5 acres and tons of lawn, but she was stubborn and couldn't give it up. Guess she won't have a choice now. The thought crossed my mind that I should make her a comfort quilt. She has made a few quilts......mostly big ones, but, I think I will....See More- 7 years agolast modified: 7 years ago
