I've really had it with roses!
Comments (39)Maybe you could grow one or 2 fussy roses in pots, watering often by hand and bring them in in winter. I am doing this with some Austins that needed constant spraying and it helped. Then you could have a few that go year round while the once bloomers have the main spots in the garden. I have the best luck with a 15 gallon size or larger because more roots seems to equal more flowers. Anyway, you could then see if it is soil or watering that is causing the problems. The same rose in the ground grew slower for me and had fewer repeats than its twin in a big pot on premium planting soil with regular watering....See MoreMiracle Fruit Plant Leaf Problems
Comments (8)I keep mine in 1:1 perlite:peat which is the standard medium for miracle fruit. Very fast draining and not a lot of water retention. I tend to agree with puglvr. As far as I'm aware, miracle fruit are all grown from seed and are therefore not clones of one another. Different behavior in similar growth conditions can happen. Also if you potted them up into a larger container and kept the original rootball intact, one may have a tighter original rootball or have trapped some poor media in the center. This can cause rot. You may want to try taking the sick plant out of its pot, removing all the soil, and replanting. They are sensitive to too much fertilizer, so maybe cut out the fert until the plant perks up. Dry leaves is often a sign of too much water or too many solutes in the water... Now if I could only get mine to fruit!...See MoreThis is an older plant ... I've had it over a decade

Comments (37)See BB, these "pro's" like CK are "above" doing it the easy way like using an egg steamer. I'm on my second steamer, that's how easy it is. No need to boil water and time it, no need for an ice bath. That's a lot of work and time wasted when you can just pop an egg in the steamer, click "On," go do laundry and ten minutes later the timer goes off. And you don't have to rush to get the eggs out either. Keep the eggs hot and one at a time put an egg in the sink under cold water, tap it, and the shell practically falls off, and you don't burn your hands because they're under the running water. Another Houzz coincidence. Just checked my FB page and this is todays memory from 7 years ago. Two batches of eggs in the steamer, and not one messed up....See MoreK S 7b Little Rock (formerly of Seattle)
